Bowie County adds 74 virus cases since Monday, Cass County reports one death

The number of confirmed coronaviru­s cases in Bowie County, Texas, increased by 74 from Monday to Thursday, reaching a total of 1,250.

The Bowie County Emergency Operations Center reported 683 recoveries, 71 deaths because of COVID-19 and 496 active cases being traced.

Cass County, Texas, reported its 15th death, up one since Monday, according to the EOC. The county saw an increase of cases from 312 to 338, with 274 recoveries and 49 active cases.

Elsewhere in Northeast Texas, Morris County’s tally rose from 182 to 184, Titus County’s from 1,443 to 1,451 and Red River County’s from 159 to 160, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.

In Southwest Arkansas, Miller County’s case count rose from 741 to 774, with 707 recoveries, 10 deaths and 57 active cases, according to the Arkansas Department of Health.

Lafayette County’s case count increased from 92 to 98, Pike County’s from 219 to 223, Nevada County’s from 205 to 209, Little River County’s from 331 to 338, Hempstead County’s from 350 to 353, Howard County’s from 450 to 455 and Sevier County’s from 1,185 to 1,189, according to ADH.

Caddo Parish in Northwest Louisiana added 133 cases to reach 8,403, and Bossier Parish added 90 to reach 3,212, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Statewide, Arkansas reported 76,676 cumulative cases and 1,246 deaths, Louisiana reported 163,222 cases and 5,241 deaths, and Texas reported 723,919 cases and 15,267 deaths.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 6,916,292 total cases so far in the U.S., with a national death toll of 201,411.
