WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!

-

Hello community! Thank you for stepping up in a special time of need. When the Coronavirus pandemic started

back in March, many of the elderly in our surrounding communities were left with minimal to NO food and/or supplies in their home. In an effort to be a part of the solution and not the problem, Texarkana AMI Radio station, Retreat Home Health Care, and Friends for a Cause, a local 501C3 nonprofit, banded together in an effort to collect supplies in a safe and efficient manner for seniors citizens in need. Fast forward to five months later, we are STILL delivering care packages to any senior in need as long as the funds and supplies will allow up. We have delivered over 500 care packages within Bowie, Cass, Hempstead, Little River, and Miller counties. We are still looking for businesses and/ or individuals that can donate specific

supplies to build emergency care packages that will last anywhere from 3-4 days to possibly a week if needed. The goal is finding and serving seniors who physically cannot get out of their house or have no one to shop for them due to COVID.

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

Bags (paper or plastic)

Bottled water (any size) Paper goods (Toilet paper,

paper towels, Kleenex)

Canned foods (pop top preferably) Crackers/pasta/ dry foods/goods

Hand sanitizer/soap

*We have previously partnered with Harvest Texarkana and Flower Acres Baptist Church to get food supplies so we will be delivering care packages to their people as well as them supplying food to others in need. Wal-Mart on both

Texas and Arkansas as well as Sam’s Club and Albertsons in Wake Village have also jumped on board with us to donate supplies and help

stretch the donated dollar.

MONETARY DONATIONS:

Will be accepted to purchase supplies through our business partner vendors. We can take cash or check made out to the Friends for a Cause Foundation.

*We will be delivering to ANYONE in the Texarkana and surrounding areas north, east, south and west within a 45-mile radius. *Please call 903-793-0282 or email suki@ retreatatkenwood.com to add your family/ friend/loved one to our care package delivery list.
