KEVIN WILSON FORRESTER

-

Kevin Forrester, 65, a lifetime resident of New Boston passed away September 28, 2020 at his home due to complications of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He courageously fought the PSP battle for seven-andone-half years.

Kevin was born March 2, 1955 in New Boston, Texas to Trevor C. and Mildred (Wilson) Forrester. Kevin was a Christian of Methodist faith, devoted father, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, husband, grandfather and friend.

He graduated from New Boston High School in 1973 and was named Future Famers Star Farmer. In the early years of his career he was in the ranching, pulpwood/logging and horse racing businesses. Most recently he was employed by M2 Services as a mechanic at Red River Army Depot.

Kevin was a respected cattleman and had a love for the ranching business since he was young boy. It was known by many that Kevin could always pick a winner. People would come from miles around to get Kevin’s opinion on anything from cattle to equipment. The “eye for the winner” was obviously hereditary, as Kevin and his late son Lee teamed up for numerous success stories, starting with basic youth activities, later leading to multiple Grand Champions in the show ring, as well as numerous winners at Louisiana Downs. That “winner’s eye” helped solidify numerous friendships and a wonderful father, son bond that will always be cherished by many.

Kevin was preceded in death by his earthly father and mother, Trevor C. and Mildred Wilson Forrester, grand-parents, Gilbert and R.T. Forrester, Victor T. Wilson and Irene Manning Wilson, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James D. and Mary A. McClaran, special Aunts, Barbara Lou Hosey, Glennis Boutwell, special cousins, Billy Ray Hosey, Wes Boutwell, and beloved son, Lee Collom Forrester.
