Police seek man on felony warrants

- — Texarkana Texas Police Department

Texarkana, Texas, police have a felony warrant for Robert McCurry.

On Monday, a man told police that he had been approached a couple days before by two men who offered to power wash the gutters at his house, according to a TTPD Facebook post.

The man agreed the gutters probably needed a good cleaning and hired them. One of the men returned Monday to do the job and began setting up his equipment. He said his name was Robert Pike.

The victim had some errands to run, so he and his wife left the suspect working. When they returned later that day, they discovered he had left and taken their Honda van.

Surveillance video shows that not long after the couple left, the suspects used the remote in the unlocked van that was sitting in the driveway to open up the garage door and get inside the house, according the the post.

“He then helped himself to the keys to the van that he found in the house. After loading up a bicycle and several tools, he drove off in their van,” the post states.

Officer James Ward found the van abandoned at a North State Line Avenue hotel later that same evening.

Police knew from prior encounters with the suspect that his last name is McCurry and not Pike, according to the post.

On Wednesday, Detective Aaron Wafford got felony warrants on McCurry for unauthorized use of a vehicle and burglary of a habitation.

If anyone knows where McCurry can be found, please call 903-798-3116 or Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793STOP.
