Arkansas reports medical marijuana sales

LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission provided data on Tuesday on total sales through Sept. 28.

Texarkana has two dispensari­es.

Red River Remedy opened on Jan. 10, Since then it has sold 367.93 pounds of medical marijuana. It located on U.S. Highway 67, northeast of the airport.

Bloom Medicinals opened Jan. 15, the company has sold 114.74 pounds of medical marijuana.

Arkansans have spent $154 million to obtain 24,067 pounds of medical marijuana since the first dispensary opened in May 2019.

There are currently 29 dispensari­es in operation with eight remaining that are working toward opening.

Green Springs Medical in Hot Springs opened on May 12, 2019, and has sold 3,191.45 pound, the most, by far

At the low end are four Since Enlightene­d Cannabis for People dispensari­es that opened this summer:

Arkadelphi­a store opened on July 16 and has sold 26.84 pounds, Heber Springs opened July 17 and has sold 37.39 pounds, Morrilton store opened on Aug. 3 and has sold 29.15 pounds and Clarksvill­e store opened Aug. 7 and sold 15.11 pounds.

Almost 84,000 Arkansans hold a patient card.

As of Sept. 30, cards that expired over the last few months will no longer be considered active and must be renewed in order to make a purchase. Patients do still have the option of a telehealth visit with a physician to confirm one of the qualifying conditions. A trip to the physician’s office is not required.
