Joseph William Jackson Jr. of Conway, Arkansas and formerly of Dierks, Arkansas, went to be with GOD on Saturday October 3rd, 2020. He was born January 16th, 1928 in Texarkana, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Ida Mae Mangham, two grandchild­ren, Jennifer Jackson and Gabriel Jackson and daughter-in-law, Patricia Jackson.

Joe is survived by his wife, Reba Dell Pryor, 4 sons: Bob Davis of Omaha, NE, Larry Jackson of Denton, TX, Terry Jackson of Ft. Worth, TX, Ken Jackson of Ashdown, AR, 3 step-children: Linda McKnight of Conway, AR, Eddie McKnight of Okolona, AR, Susan McKnight Kirby of Vivian, LA, 5 grandchild­ren and 10 great grandchild­ren.

As a teen, Joe became an Eagle Scout. He was a veteran having served in the USAF achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. After his service, Joe went to work for the US Postal Service at the train depot in Texarkana. He excelled and moved up the ranks finally becoming the Special Assistant to the Postmaster General in Washington DC. At that point he decided to retire in 1967 and moved to Dierks. He spent his time fishing, gardening, taking trips to Branson and spoiling grandkids. He build doll houses, race tracks, push carts, rocking horses and bunk beds for the grandkids.

After Ida Mae’s passing, Joe left Dierks and married Reba. They enjoyed 20 years together. Their yards were always beautiful with an abundance of flowers.

Joe was baptized in the Reorganize­d Latter Day Saints Church as a youth. In later years he attended Southern Baptist churches. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Graveside funeral service will be 2:00 P. M. Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 1 to 5 P. M. Friday at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.
