LUANNE CERRATO JACOBS

Luanne Jacobs, age 61, of Texarkana, Texas, died Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Jacobs was born October 13, 1958 in New York, New York and lived in Texarkana most of her life. She was a professor of psychology with Texarkana Community College and a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church. She was the former director of counseling with the Barry Telford Unit in New Boston. She was also a licensed drug and alcohol counselor with her own private practice. She was not only a counselor, but she was also a kind and loving person always willing to give a word of encouragement, a hug or a smile to a friend or stranger in need. Luanne was not only a loving and caring mother, but a friend and mentor to her daughter Amber.

She is survived by her husband of twenty-six years Michael Jacobs of Texarkana, Texas; one daughter, Amber Nicole Jacobs of Texarkana, Texas; one step-daughter Meagan Jacobs; her parents Joe and Erlene Cerrato of Texarkana, Texas and one special friend Fabienne Thrash Gesselman and a host of other friends and relatives.

Graveside services will be 10 am Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Calvary Cemetery with Father Ignatius Nwankwocha officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Texarkana Arkansas Funeral Home.
