COACH DEWASKI DAVIS’

COMMENTS: “It was one of those nights. The mindset was tough and our guys had a lot to overcome. It kinda got tough on our kids. We have to just learn to overcome things like that because things aren’t always going to workout for you sometimes. In the third quarter, we told the guys to remain focused and poised. That’s exactly that they did.

“Our defense pitching the shutout meant a lot to our guys. It means a lot to be able to do it on this level and especially in a district game. It spoke volumes for our defense. We awarded our entire defense as players of the game, because they did what they had to do.

“Marshad is a talented young man. He’s been struggling catching it a little bit but at the same time, he just keeps working. He’s really come along as a good defender for us. He’s a really good lockdown guy too.”
