DEATHS FRANCES HOLLINGER GLENN CARLSON WILLIAM CHANEY

Frances Sue Lasater Hollinger, 87, of Foreman, AR passed away December 3, 2020 in a local hospital. She was born December 29, 1932 in Mathis, TX to the late Edward and Emma Lasater. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Hollinger worked, for years, as an executive secretary in multiple air bases in Texas and as well as one in California. She enjoyed sewing and cooking. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Hollinger, three brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include one son, Jim Webb of Amarillo, TX, four daughters and two sons-inlaw, Kathy and Danny Marler of Horatio, AR, Andrea Singleton of Foreman, Tina and Lee Carrell of Foreman and Cecilia Potts of Foreman, one brother, Frank Lasater of Mathis, TX, ten grandchild­ren, Jeff Marler, Bryce Marler, Tessa Brecheisen, Bryan Carrell, Richard Carrell, Jade Lake, Jillian Webb, Jensen Webb, Laken Potts and Corben Potts and seventeen great-grandchild­ren.

A graveside service will be Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 11:00 at Dollarhide Cemetery with her grandson, Bryan Carrell, officiatin­g.

Mrs. Hollinger will always be remembered as a great and precious mother.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Glenn Howard Carlson on Monday, November 30, 2020 after a severe heart attack. Glenn was in his 79th year.

Beloved husband and best friend of Georgia Car lson . Loving father of Melissa McCaleb of Grapevine Texas, and Monica Beeman, spouse, Doug Beeman of Atlanta Texas. He was the proud grandfathe­r to Brianna Watkins and Abigail Watkins. He is survived by his beloved Cat, Mr. Billy.

Glenn was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church and he loved the Lord. Fondly remembered by his extended family and many good friends. Glenn owned Carlson Sprinkler Repair in Texarkana Texas. He also worked as a part time merchandis­er for Scott’s Miracle Grow at Home Depot and Lowe’s. Glenn was originally from Tucson, Arizona. He graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1966. He was also the longtime owner of Carlson’s Brick and Utility in Tucson.

He loved boating and being on the water in his favorite two cities, San Diego, California and Jacksonvil­le, Florida. He was an avid Florida Gator fan for 30 years. When not watching the game, he could be found outside working. He was a hard worker who was passionate about landscapin­g and yard work.

His favorite past time was watching Gunsmoke and doing crossword puzzles. Glenn and his beloved Georgia traveled across country seeing many views for 20 years. He loved taking Georgia on extended cruises, and his favorite all time trip was going to visit the Mount Rushmore Monument.

One of Glenn’s favorite verses in the Bible states, “Be strong, vigorous and very courageous, be not afraid or dismayed the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Josua 1.9).

Glenn was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

William Lynn Chaney, age 83, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in Little Rock.

He was born April 4, 1937, in De Queen, Arkansas. He was a retired banker and was a Methodist, he loved the outdoors and hunting and watching the Arkansas

Razorbacks.

Mr. Chaney was preceded in death by his parents Bernie and Opal Hobson Chaney.

He is survived by his wife Patti Tutt Chaney; one son, Phillip Lynn Chaney of Auburn, Alabama; one brother, Duane Chaney of De Queen, AR; two sisters, Pearl Frachiseur of Grannis, AR and Janice Chaney of Mena, AR; two special people in his life Jeremy Oliver of Denham Springs, LA and Lindsey Oliver of Texarkana, Arkansas and a number of special nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Chaney will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Mineral Cemetery in Gillham, Arkansas with Steve Copley officiatin­g under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Family will receive friends prior to service 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the cemetery.

The family requests that everyone wear a face mask and practice social distancing for safety.

PAUL HAWKINS SR.

Paul H. Hawkins, Sr., 92, of Foreman, AR passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 at his home. He was born November 21, 1928 in Foreman, AR to the late Henry and Joyce Hawkins. Mr. Hawkins was a proud Army Veteran of the Korean War and a life-long farmer. He served on the Boards of the Farm Service Agency, Foreman Public Schools, the National Grain Sorghum Associatio­n as well as the Board of Beef and Poultry. He also served on the Vestry of St. Barnabus Episcopal Church.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patsy Sue (Bogard) Hawkins.

Survivors include son, Paul H. Hawkins, Jr., daughter, Rosemary Hawkins, grandchild­ren, Jennifer Laurent, Paul H. Hawkins III “Trip” (Candance Ripley) and Kaitlyn (Zach) Flanagan, great-grandchild­ren, Connar, Jaxson, Lucas, Aubree, Melanie, Sawyer, Benjamin and Sarah, good friend and companion, Jamie Stevens as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 5, 2020 from 6:00 – 8:00 at Madden Funeral Home in Foreman with a graveside service at Dollarhide Cemetery at 3:00 on Sunday.

LINNEA JAN WHITMAN

Linnea Jan Whitman, 74, died December 1, 2020, at her home in Texarkana, TX, following a 26-year cancer battle.

She was born on December 17, 1945, at St. Ann’s Foundling Hospital in New York City, NY to Edward J. Wh itman and Marzelle Hesterly, both were World War II Veterans. She attended New York City public schools in Astoria, Springfiel­d Gardens, and Cambria Heights, NY. She graduated from Queens College in Flushing, NY. She was a Records Manager for several corporatio­ns in Midtown Manhattan, including Texaco, Celanese, and NL Industries. After 1986, she lived in Houston, TX, Plano, TX, Eldorado, AR, and Texarkana, TX.

She is survived by her brother, Keith Whitman of Texarkana, TX. She was a devout Christian her entire life and had been a member of the New Covenant Fellowship, Eldorado, AR, Northside Assembly of God and New Life Tabernacle, Texarkana, TX.

Burial of her cremains will be in Turner Cemetery, Reader, AR. A Memorial Service is still pending.

Graveside services for Earnestine Forte will be 11 AM December 5, 2020 at the Antioch Prosperity Cemetery, New Boston, TX. Viewing will be from 10 - 11 at the cemetery. Arrangemen­ts under direction of Haynes Mortuary.
