Lady Leopards beat New Boston
NEW BOSTON, Texas — Liberty-Eylau blew open a close game by going on a 26-6 third-quarter spree as the Lady Leopards defeated New Boston, 66-51, in varsity basketball action Friday.
The Leopards (5-3) used a balanced scoring attack, with four players in double figures. Kayla Crabtree led the way with 18 points and four steals, Tamara Norris had 14 points and eight rebounds, Bryana Block added 13 points and Myah Hurd chimed in with 10 points. Ja’Niya Sanders also had six rebounds for L-E, which led 29-27 at halftime.
Maggie Taylor paced the Lady Lions (2-3) with 14 points and Romyane McChester and Aunisty Dorsey had 9 points each.
The Leopards will be back in action today, playing host to Paul Pewitt at the Rader Dome.
Ashdown defeats Tigers
ASHDOWN, Ark. — The Ashdown Pantherettes defeated Texas High, 52-43, in girls basketball action Friday at Helen Parker Gym in Ashdown.
Lady Hawks tumble
TEXARKANA, Texas — Sulphur Springs came into town handed Pleasant Grove a 39-19 defeat in girls basketball action at Hawk Gym.
The Hawks played Maud in a boys game.

Boys Basketball Arkadelphia 68, Arkansas High 64 (OT)
ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Arkadelphia edged Arkansas High, 68-64 in overtime in boys baskeball action Friday.
Andre Reed scored 25 points for the Razorbacks and Jordan Jones added 16.
Union Grove 63, Hughes Springs 30
HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas — Unbeaten Union Grove doubled up on Hughes Springs in non-district action on the Mustangs’ home floor.
The Lions from Gladewater ran their record to 7-0 with the 63-30 victory over the Lady Mustangs.
Carleigh Judd, a 5-foot-10 senior center, paced Union Grove with 25 points and Macy Alston added 20. Adriana Kennedy topped Hughes Springs with 11 points and Sanariya Davis added 8.
The visitors built a 21-4 lead at the first break and expanded it to 39-14 by intermission.
The Mustangs return to the hardwood today, hosting Queen City.
