Panthers defeat Garrett Memorial
FOUKE, Ark. — Fouke’s Dylan Attaway scored 23 points and Mitchell Barham added 15 to lead the Panthers to a 64-47 win over Garrett Memorial in varsity basketball action earlier this week.
Fouke used its long-range shooting game — hitting 15 3-pointers — to coast to the win.
The Lady Panthers had a tougher time, with Fouke winning 53-50. Christa Wall led the winners with 20 points.
Fouke also ran away in the junior high girls game, 59-10. Laynie Richardson and Ally Caudle scored 8 points each for the Panthers.
Subvarsity PG eighth-graders win
TEXARKANA, Texas — Pleasant Grove downed North Lamar in two eighth-grade basketball games, with the Lady Hawks winning the A game, 32-20, and the B contest, 24-12.
In the A game, PG was led by Abigail Boehmke with 11 points and Kenasia
Henry added 10. Kennedy Crumpton and Simone Williams scored 6 each for the Hawks in the B game.
North Lamar won both seventh-grade games, 17-14 in the A game and 20-9 in the B contest.
Carley Rhodes led PG in the A game with 7 points. Rihanna Miller scored 4 points for the Hawks in the B game.
TMS drops four games
TEXARKANA, Texas — Sulphur Springs handed Texas Middle School four losses in basketball games.
The visitors won the eighth-grade A game, 23-22, with Ke’Aria Antwine scoring 12 points for TMS.
Sulphur Springs also wo the eighthgrade B game, 19-15, with Azala Ward leading the losers with 8 points.
TMS absorbed a 28-16 defeat in the seventh-grade A game (TMS leading scorers were Karasha Hayes 6 points, Preslie Clopp 5 points). Sulphur Springs won the seventh-grade B match, 27-8. Elizabeth Dorsey topped TMS with 8 points.
