Mildred Ann (Ham) Hubbs, born September 15, 1939, passed from this life on November 27, 2020 at Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana TX. She was 81 years old. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents Champ Clark Ham and Hazel Elizabeth (Gammill) Ham; brothers Arthur Lewis “Boots” Ham and Roberts Clark “Bob” Ham; sister Jana Mozelle (Ham) Plum; sister-in-law Virginia Nadine Ham; and grandson Nathan Daniel Jones. She is survived by her adoring and dedicated husband William Boyd Hubbs of Queen City TX; sons Roger Clark Jones and wife Kelly of Queen City TX, Bobby Loren Jones and wife Peggy Lynn of Queen City TX; daughter Leanna Rae Whatley of Atlanta TX; son Thomas Jeffrey Hubbs of New Boston TX; daughter Kayla Denise Firth and husband Mike of New Boston TX; special friend Angela Marie Markham, whom she loved like a daughter; brothers Kenneth Joe Ham and wife Merle of Cass TX, and Jimmie Don Ham of Lubbock TX; numerous grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and numerous friends.

Mildred Ann (Ham) Hubbs was born and raised in Linden TX. She was a cheerleade­r for the Linden Tigers and graduated with the Class of 1957. During school, she was voted most active. Mildred worked as a supervisin­g seamstress for 20+ years at Henson and Kickernick in Atlanta TX. She was an excellent seamstress and could make anything as well as paint beautifull­y. In her free time, she loved watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Days of Our Lives, and The Young and The Restless. She was an avid reader, great at puzzles and trivia, and was well known for her love of baking. During her son’s time in the military, she would bake pies for his fellow soldiers. Mildred was also a breast cancer survivor. Even at the worst of times, she had an outstandin­g sense of humor, and was known to tell jokes and stories to lift everyone’s spirits. She had a profound love for her children, grandchild­ren, great-grandchild­ren, and her beloved husband “Bill” whom she had spent 43 years of marriage with. In her times of need, “Bill” made her health and happiness his top priority, and gave his all to his sweetheart until her last breath.

A memorial service in Mildred’s honor will be held on December 12, 2020 beginning at 2:00 PM at Queen City Funeral Home in Queen City TX.
