Nora Belle Arrington, age 82, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord Friday, January 1, 2021 in a local adult care facility.

Nora was born July 16, 1938, in Gilmer, Texas, to Jasper and Jewel N icho ls . She was a Homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Atlanta. She taught Sunday school for years in Springhill, Louisiana and Texarkana, Arkansas, she was also a Girl Scout Troup Leader of Troup 386, Conifer Council, Texarkana, Arkansas and also Troup 369 Pelican Council, Springhill, Louisiana. She enjoyed working in her yard, playing bridge, fishing and was an avid birdwatche­r. She was described by her family as “Wonderful Nana”. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Arrington; two sisters, Syble Parker, Thelma Moss; three brothers, Doyal Nichols, Elmer “Buck” Nichols, and Glynn Nichols.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Starnes and husband Larry of Atlanta, Texas; brother, Kenneth Nichols of Blue Ridge, Texas; sisters, Wanda Jo Hudson and husband John of Blue Ridge, Texas, Sandra Gibbons, of Mesquite, Texas; two grandchild­ren, Patrick Starnes and wife Karie of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jason Starnes and wife April of Texarkana, Arkansas; three great-grandchild­ren, Landon Starnes of Corpus Christi, Texas, Emily Starnes of Corpus Christi, Texas, Forrest Starnes of Norfolk, Virginia; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be 3:00 pm, Monday, January 4, 2021 at Rosewood Cemetery, Rosewood, Texas, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.

Visitation will be Monday, January 4, 2021, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.
