Lady Bulldogs beat Lady Dragons, 51-41, in varsity basketball

REDWATER, Texas — Lauren Carrell was the lone double-figure scorer for Queen City, but eight players scored to lift the Lady Bulldogs to a 51-41 win over the Lady Dragons in varsity basketball earlier this week.

Carrell led QC with 13 points and Jamecia Cook added seven. Reagan Markham led Redwater with 15 points and Sidney McBride added 11.

Daingerfie­ld 51, Hughes Springs 28

DAINGERFIE­LD, Texas — Daingerfie­ld used a strong second half to beat Hughes Springs, 51-28. Adriana Kennedy led the Lady Mustangs with 25 points and Sanariya Davis added 15.

The Lady Tigers were paced by Terry Gholston with eight points and Genesis Allen followed with seven.

Hughes Springs led 6-1 at the first break before Daingerfie­ld pulled even at halftime 13-13. The hosts outscored the Mustangs 37-15 in the second half.

McLeod 86, Linden-Kildare 26

MCLEOD, Texas — McLeod standout Keldyn Schubert had his second quadruple of the season to lead the Longhorns to a 86-26 win over Linden-Kildare.

Schubert scored 23 points, had 15 assists, 11 rebounds and 10 steals for McLeod (12-4). Casey Smith added 20 points and Tyler Williams 14 points. Mason Johnson made six points for the Tigers.

The Longhorns won the JV game, 55-18. Hunter Teer had 10 points and Jase Deaten nine points for the winners. Rollie Patterson had seven points for L-K. MCLEOD, Texas — Nine players scored as McLeod remained unbeaten with a 70-13 romp over LindenKild­are.

The Lady Longhorns (5-0) jumped out to a 22-5 break and expanded it to 37-5 at intermissi­on.

Gracie Cross led McLeod with 17 points and 11 rebounds, Kaitlyn Cross added 15 points and steals, Ella Lambeth had nine points, seven rebounds and four steals, and Stormy Johnson eight rebounds.

SUBVARSITY North Heights wins

CAMDEN, Texas — North Heights improved its record to 5-0 with a seventh-grade win over Camden Fairview, 24-19.

Treshure Martin and Jaydence Williams scored 12 points each to lead their team to victory.

L-E vs. P. Grove

Liberty-Eylau Middle School, 36-34, nipped Pleasant Grove in eighthgrad­e A action. Kentorian Cheatham topped the winners with 18 points.

L-E won the eighth-grade B contest, 19-10. Davarious Taylor and Javari Johnson scored six points each for the Leopards.

Liberty-Eylau won the boys eighth-grade game, 52-24. Dequane Prevo fueled the way with 18 points and Tyris Crowell had 16 points.

The Hawks won 26-7 in the seventh-grade girls tilt, 26-7. Laya Sanders and Jolie Mascoe scored six points each for PG. Lilli Scott had five markers for L-E.

The Hawks beat L-E, 37-17, behind Brooklyn Garnet with 10 points.

Pleasant Grove won 37-17 in the eighth-grade game. Abigail Boehmke scored 14 points and Reese Gibbs added 11.

Hooks vs. DeKalb

HOOKS, Texas —Kayden Estell scored nine points to lead Hooks to a 20-5 win over DeKalb in eighth-grade play. Hooks won the seventh-grade contest, 50-26, to improve to 5-0. Ripken Birdwell topped the Hornets with 13 points and Landon Owens contribute­d 12.

DeKalb won the eighthgrad­e B game, 34-24. Trip Baysinger had 15 points for Hooks.

New Boston vs. Queen City

QUEEN CITY, Texas — New Boston won a pair of middle school basketball games against Queen City.

The Lady Lions won the eighth-grade game, 35-30. Laterika Jackson had nine points for the Bulldogs. Dorsey scored for the Lions.

The visitors won the seventh-grade contest, 31-14. Dori Sasser tallied nine points for the hosts.
