Walter Reaves, Junior, son of the late Easter Mixon-Rowe (Narvis) and Walter Reaves, Senior, was born February 13th, 1946 in Texarkana, Arkansas. He joined the 11th Street Baptist Church at an early age. Walter graduated from Booker T. Washington High School on May 31, 1964. He started college in the fall of 1965 at Texarkana College. Walter enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1966 and served through 1969. Upon honorable discharge from the Air Force, Walter started his employment at Red River Army Depot. He completed his bachelor’s degree at Texas A&M University. Walter enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1976 until 1980. Walter completed the intern program with the United States government and transferre­d to Mannheim, Germany until 1990. His combined service to the Government of the United States of 40 plus years ended as a retired Master Sergeant (E8) and Logistics Management Specialist at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville Alabama.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his adoring wife, Bettie Reaves of Madison, Alabama. He was the proud father of one daughter, Shuntane Reaves-Dean of Nash, Texas; Stepchildr­en Joel A. Cotton, Tammie (Larry) Taylor, Alfreda and Titus Toney, all of Madison Alabama; grandchild­ren Meagan Dean and Christian Mixon of Nash, Texas, Diamond and Dylan Toney of Madison, Alabama; and a great-granddaugh­ter Paislee Stephens of Nash, Texas, one aunt Emma Williams of San Francisco, California and a host of relatives and friends.

Graveside Service 10:00 AM Saturday, March 13, 2021, Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Bishop T. L. Taylor, Eulogist under the direction of Jones Stuart Mortuary. Mask & Social Distancing Required.
