How to get vaccine and who is eligible
Arkansas is currently in Phase 1B eligibility. Those eligible for the vaccine under 1B guidelines include: people 65 or older and people with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Wokers in the following occupations are also eligible: education, police fire and first responders, corrections officers, food and agriculture workers, essential government, grocery store and meat delivery workers, postal and package delivery workers, public transit, houses of worship and manufacturing.
Arkansas continues to also vaccinate the Phase 1 A groups which include: health care workers, residents and staff at long-term care facilities and these high priority groups: EMS, fire, and law enforcement who serve as first responders, primary care, urgent care, college/university student health center, K-12 health clinics and school nurses, dental clinics, pharmacies, home health, private care/personal care, hospice care, dialysis centers, correctional staff involved in patient care and transfer, morticians/ funeral home staff involved in direct contact or conducting transports and blood donation centers.
Texas is also in its Phase 1B, which is defined differently from Arkansas’. Those now eligible for the vaccine include: front-line healthcare workers, residents at longterm care facilities, people age 65 or older and people age 16 or older with a health condition that increases risk of severe COVID-19 illness.
Because of a federal directive, the following education and child care personnel are now eligible to be vaccinated in Texas: those who work in pre-primary, primary and secondary schools or Head Start and Early Head Start programs, including teachers, staff and bus drivers; and those who work as or for licensed child care providers, including center-based and family care providers.

Monday
Beginning Monday, Landsdell Family Clinic in Texarkana, Arkansas will be offering Pfizer vaccines at the clinic located at 3809 E. Ninth St. For more information, call 870-330-4385.
The Texarkana-Bowie County Family Health Center, 902 W. 12th St., Texarkana, Texas, will administer the Johnson & Johnson vaccine by appointment. To make an appointment, call 903-7983250 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday. If any vaccine doses remain after Monday, the Center will also take appointments at the same number between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Tuesday for vaccinations to be administered Wednesday.
Tuesday
Albertsons Pharmacy and St. Edwards Catholic School will provide vaccines from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 402 Ash St., Texarknana, Arkansas. To register, go to www. mhealthsystem.com/stedwardscatholicchurch.
Thursday
College Hill Drug and Miller County Office of Emergency Management will provide vaccines from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fouke Community Center, 106 E. Main. Registration forms can be picked up at College Hill Drug, Fouke Post Office or several Fouke businesses including Jerry’s General Store, Monster Mart, Allen’s Burger Center and Sheryl’s Country Kitchen.
Friday
College Hill Drug and Miller County Office of Emergency Management will provide vaccines from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Doddridge Community Center, 189 Miller County 201. Registration paperwork can be picked up in advance at the Doddridge Community Center.
Saturday
CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System will provide vaccines by appointment on its hospital campus in Texarkana, Texas. To check eligibility and make an appointment, visit christushealth.org online and click the chat application on the right of the screen or call 877-335-5746.
