Leopards edge Pirates

Pittsburg, Texas — Liberty-Eylau edged Pittsburg in their district baseball game Tuesday night at Pirate Field, 4-3.

Gage Bellatti received the win on the bump for the Leopards. Bellatti went six innings, struck out five batters and walked four.

Braylon Blair led the Leopards at the plate going 1 for 3 with 2 RBI and teammate Bryce Blackwell went 2 for 3 with a run scored.

Arkansas High 14, White Hall 6

PINE BLUFF, Ark. — Arkansas High throttled White Hall Tuesday night in their Conference 6A/5A game on the road.

Ty Waid received the win on the hill for the Hogs. Waid also went 3 for 5 at the plate with a run scored.

Jackson Tye went 1 for 3 with 4 RBI and a run scored for AHS in the rout.

Texas High 13, Pine Tree 2

LONGVIEW, Texas — Olivia Huckabee scattered five hits and struck out four as the Lady Tigers run-ruled host Pine Tree in a District 15-5A softball game.

Ashanti Northcross belted a triple and Lauren Allred had a double during a six-run fifth inning for Texas High. Valeria Perez and Emma Prince also had RBI hits during the big rally.

Mollie Fisher singled in a pair of runs in the first for THS.

Vanessa Perez, Valeria Perez, Northcross and Alex Reed each finished with two hits.

Rivercrest 3, James Bowie 0

SIMMS, Texas — The Pirates fell to the Rebels despite out-hitting them, 4-3.

Zane DeBerry had a single in the first frame for James Bowie. DeBerry was the starting pitcher and recorded 18 outs, absorbed the loss, allowed three runs on just three hits and fanned nine.

John Grider earned the win, pitched a 2-hitter across five innings, struck out six and walked one.

Whitt Rogers, Lane Johnson and Garrett Brown each had a hit for the Pirates.
