LETHA YARBERRY

On Friday, March 19, 2021, Letha N. Yarberry of Shreveport, LA passed away at the age of 95.

Letha was born on September 5, 1925 in Bloomberg, TX. Letha married Arthur C. Yarberry on December 24, 1941. She was his champion through two overseas tours during WWII as he served his country in the US Army, 142d Field Artillery. They were married 54 years when Arthur passed in 1996.

Letha was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur C. Yarberry, daughter Sherren Y. Stanford, son Phil A. Yarberry, her parents Henry D. Nichols and Betha Ann Nichols, and her siblings Aubrey Nichols, Carter Nichols, Arvil Nichols, Estelle Cheatham, Ardell Nichols, Selma Endsley and Flora Nichols.

Letha is survived by her son, Steve C. Yarberry of Houston, TX, grand-daughter Stacy Y. Dobbs of Spring, TX and grand-daughter Stephanie S. Wilburn of Lewisville, TX. Letha has three great-grandchildren, Caroline Dobbs, Demi Dobbs and Hunter Wilburn.

Letha was a homemaker. She also worked part time at TG&Y. She was known for her smile and genuine kind nature. She retired from TG&Y after more than 20 years of service. Letha loved to cook. Her greatest joy came from teaching her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren how to make teacakes, pecan pie, preserves, and chicken and dumplings. She loved having a full house of family and watching everyone enjoying her wonderful meals and desserts. She also loved making care packages to send home with family, mail to the family, or share with her neighbors.

On Saturday April 3rd, 2021 a visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM. Service beginning at 11:00 at Texarkana Funeral Home located at 3515 Texas Blvd., Texarkana, TX with a burial immediately following at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
