Lynne Dickens Vammen, 91, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, peacefully leaving her home to be with the Lord. Lynne had demonstrat­ed during her lifetime a very positive attitude. Her primary objectives were that of being a good mother and to raise her family in accordance with God’s eternal plan of salvation, that it was important to her that having a Christian lifestyle would lead them toward a bright future and for generation­s to come.

Lynne was born June 2, 1929, in Little Rock to parents Roy Harwood Dickens and Violet Boyce Dickens, though her beloved hometown was Texarkana. She attended Arkansas High School prior to going to Hendrix College and graduating from Southern Methodist University where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church of Texarkana, Arkansas, eventually serving as a Sunday school teacher, a choir member , and as a Life member of both the Administra­tive Board and United Methodist Women. Lynne served her community through deep involvemen­t in the Junior League of Texarkana, American Red Cross, TRAHC, Texarkana Museums System, and as a Life member of PTA.

Lynne joined Dr. Reuel E. Vammen in marriage on March 23, 1952 at the Boyce family home on East Sixth Street. Lynne and Reuel celebrated 69 years of wonderful marriage on the day prior to her death. They united their lives to become fabulous parents. Their enduring love has set a remarkable example for family and friends to remember.

Lynne was preceded by her parents and a favorite niece, Lynne Trulock Ravellette. She is survived by her husband, Reuel E. Vammen; sister, Sue Trulock of Pine Bluff; son, Reuel A. and Anna Vammen of Little Rock, son, David W. and Melinda Vammen of Texarkana; grandchild­ren, Daniel Vammen of Texarkana, Sarah and Ian Aucoin of Germany;Christophe­r and Brenda Vammen and their children Kate and Alex of Little Rock, numerous friends and treasured cousins, nephews and nieces in the Boyce, Dickens and Vammen families.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, March 27, 2021 at East Memorial Chapel - Downtown with Rev. Jaimie Alexander officiatin­g.
