ELRIECE THURSTON

Elriece Marie Thurston was born on September 22, 1937 in Texarkana, Texas to the late Mark and Addie Thurston. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She enjoyed singing in the choir at Oak Grove Baptist Church with her sisters: Ethel and Carrie. Her sister Laura was an usher. Elriece later joined Clear Lake Baptist Church. She attended Dunbar High School; she also took a Medical Office Procedures class with her daughter, Pamela at Texarkana Community College. She worked many years as a house keeper and daycare worker. Elreice was preceded in death by her son, LaRoderick Thurston; her five sisters; Laura Hooper, Hester Runnels, Lucille Boons, Carrie Wilson and Ethel Thurston and 1 brother: Jim Thurston. She departed this life on March 17, 2021.

She leaves to cherish her memories: 3 Daughters: Connie Brown of Little Rock, Arkansas. Pamela Thurston and April Thurston of Texarkana, Texas; 1 Sister: Lorene Allen of Texarkana, Texas; 1 Brother: Calvin Thurston of Bakersfiel­d, California; 3 Granddaugh­ters: Tiffany Brown, Camille Thurston and Caleigha Thurston; 1 Honorary Grandson: Kyron Young; Special Care Provider: Robert Thurston, her nephew. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 3:00-5:00pm at the Richardson Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 2:00pm at the Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Joe Rochelle, eulogist/officiant under the direction of the Richardson Hill Funeral Home.
