Hallsville outdoes THS, 12-0

TEXARKANA, Texas — Hallsville pounded in five runs in the third inning on Texas High, but the Tigers were unable to recover the rest of the game.

Hallsville beat Texas High at Tiger Field in a District 15-5A contest, 12-0.

With the bases loaded, Noah Jumper walked, bringing home Brayden Walker for the game’s first run in the top of the first inning for Hallsville.

The Bobcats added to their lead during the following inning after Tyler Lee drove Walker in from second base, giving Hallsville a 2-0 cushion over Texas High.

Connor Stewart doubled over the left fielder's head, driving in Jumper, adding to the Hallsville's lead over the Tigers, 3-0.

A couple of batters later in the inning, Trent Smith crossed home plate after a bases loaded walk, giving the Bobcats a 4-0 cushion over THS in the third inning.

Lee doubled down the first baseline with the bases loaded during the next at-bat, driving in Sawyer Duncan and Stewart, giving Hallsville a 6-0 advantage over Texas High.

Walker scored on a wild pitch for the Bobcats before the Tigers were able to end the inning, 7-0, to end the top of the third.

Rian Cellers went 1 for 3 at the plate for the Tigers with two stolen bases and teammate Nathan Steele went 1 for 2 at the dish.

Stewart drove in Jones on his sacrifice to right field for the Bobcats in the top of fourth inning, extending their edge over the Tigers, 8-0.

Stewart went 1 for 4 with a double, 2 RBI and also scored a run, while teammate Jumper went 1 for 3 with a RBI and run scored.

Matt Houston and Jones each added RBI doubles in the top of the seventh inning, giving the Bobcats a double-digit lead over the Tigers in the final inning, 10-0.

Jones scored after a bases loaded walk, adding to Hallsville lead late, 11-0.

Kurt Wyman scored on a THS wild pitch for the Bobcats, giving Hallsville the 12-0 advantage in the game.

Wyman went 0 for 2 with four stolen bases and also scored a run.

Texas High is back on the diamond today, traveling to Longview.
