LEWIS “BOP” CANNON

Lewis “Bop” Cannon, age 78, of Texarkana, Arkansas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at his home.

Lewis was born November 30, 1943, in Lockesburg, Arkansas, to Vertice Cannon and Gladys (Pool) Cannon. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Cannon served in the Vietnam War as a Navy Corpsman. He was and avid reader. He enjoyed visits with his grandchild­ren, watching golf, football, and Fox News.

He is preceded in death by his two brothers, Joe Cannon and E. K. Cannon, two sisters, Dorothy White, and Pat Collins.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Cannon of Texarkana, Arkansas, one daughter, Joni Cannon of Texarkana, Arkansas; one grandson Mark Humphrey of Texarkana, Arkansas; one granddaugh­ter, Marli Humphrey of Texarkana, Arkansas; one sister, Helen Harness of Dierks, Arkansas; a special cousin, Shelby (Pool) Grice of Texarkana, Arkansas; his fury baby B. J.

Graveside services were held Friday, December 3, at 2:00 P. M. in Belleville Cemetery in Lockesburg, Arkansas with military honors.

Joe A. Vance passed December 5, 2021. Funeral service, 10 AM, December 9, 2021, De Queen First Assembly. Graveside Clear Creek Cemetery in Horatio, Arkansas. Visitation, 6-8 PM, December 8th at Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Woletta Lehman, age 71 of New Boston passed away November 21, 2021. Memorial services are pending with Bates Rolf Funeral Home, New Boston.

Jack Barry Williams, Sr. 80 of Texarkana, AR passed on December 2, 2021. Graveside Service December 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under the Direction of Jones Stuart Mortuary.

JOHN NGUYEN

John Nguyen, age 41, of Texarkana Arkansas, died Monday, December 6, 2021, in a local hospital.

John was born August 5, 1980, in Texarkana, Texas, and was a lifetime resident of Texarkana. He was employed with TEXAR Federal Credit Union and T.J. Maxx. He was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church. He was the type of man that everyone would want to know. He was loyal to his friends and family and was a generous and caring person. Family was very important to John, and he loved spoiling his four nephews. He was an excellent cook who loved entertaini­ng for his family and friends. John loved all types of music and enjoyed singing karaoke. He was preceded in death by his father Sang Van Nguyen, grandparen­ts Cay and Mi Le Bui, and his cousin Michael Bui.

He is survived by his mother, Hong Nguyen of Texarkana, Arkansas; his two brothers, Hanh Nguyen and (Chelle Bennett) of Texarkana, Arkansas; and Dan Nguyen of Texarkana Arkansas; one sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Dung Nguyen of Texarkana, Arkansas; and his four nephews, Bryan Nguyen, Brandon Nguyen, Dustin Nguyen, and Jacob Nguyen; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A. M. Saturday, December 11, 2021, at St. Edwards Catholic Church with Father William Burmester officiatin­g. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.

The Rosary will be recited at 5:00 P. M. Friday, December 10, 2021, at Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas with visitation to follow at 5:30 P. M.
