HENRY SOLOMON

Henry Solomon was born May 22, 1939, in Texarkana, Texas to the late Roosevelt Sr. and Patsy Solomon. He was the second of the couple’s 12 children. Henry attended Clear Lake Elementary School for a short time before entering the workforce doing different jobs. Henry married Minnie Hooks and to that union four children were born. He later married Shirley Duson in 1966 and to this union two children were born. Henry was a man of faith and was a member of St. Stephens Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas.

Henry dedicated his life to working hard to provide for his family. He was employed with McLarty Ford Motor Company for many years before working more than 20 years as a Diesel Technician for Cox Refrigerated, Inc. located in Dallas, Texas.

Henry departed this life on Monday, December 27, 2021. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by: his wife, Shirley Solomon; two sisters, Tammer Jean Easton and Gloria Jean Solomon; and three brothers, Roosevelt Solomon, Jr., William Solomon and James Hardy Solomon.

He is survived by: seven children, Stanley Solomon, Lawrence Solomon, Bridgett Solomon, Tony Solomon, Billy Callahan (Charlotte), Christopher Solomon (Sonya) and Jason Solomon (Jocelyn); two sisters, LaVerne Scroggins and Elmer Jean Shavers; four brothers, George Solomon, Calvin Solomon, Curtis Charles Solomon and Earnest Lee Solomon; twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-nin great-grandchildren, and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Henry Solomon will be Monday from 12 – 2 PM at Haynes Mortuary. Funeral service will be 12 Noon Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Haynes Mortuary. MASKS ARE REQUIRED.
