DE QUEEN, Ark. —An escaped inmate from the McCurtain County jail was caught about 9 p.m. Wednesday night, according to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office.

Donnie Kale Middlebrooks, 21 was apprehended in Eagletown Oklahoma, according to the SCSO. Middlebrooks had been the focus of a search in Sevier County Arkansas on Tuesday night.

Investigators with the U.S. Marshal Service’s Eastern Oklahoma District were in western Sevier County Tuesday night due to a sighting of Middlebrooks.

“We have been on the ground in McCurtain County looking for the three remaining inmates and last night we were in Sevier County after a tip that one of them had been spotted walking down a road,” said Lance Hancock, with the U.S. Marshal’s Service.

The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office reported that Middlebrooks may be in the area in a white 2010 Buick LaCrosse that was allegedly stolen from Wright City, Oklahoma.

Hancock said the U.S. Marshal’s Service responded to Dog Town Road in western Sevier County, just a couple of miles from the Oklahoma state line.

“We assisted Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, put a dog in the woods, but were unable to locate him,” Hancock said.

Hancock said the search has primarily focused on Eagletown, Oklahoma, just west of the state line but at least one of the escapees has ties to Southwest Arkansas as well.

Six people in McCurtain County have been arrested by the U.S. Marshal’s Service on charges of aiding and abetting and harboring a fugitive in connection to escapee Kolby Russell Watson, 28, who was arrested Saturday night in Hochatown, Oklahoma. The names of the people arrested were not immediately available Wednesday.

Two people, a jailer and a contractor working in the jail, have also been arrested by the MCSO on charges of assisting in the escape.

Watson was one of four men who escaped the McCurtain County jail in Idabel Thursday night.

The U.S. Marshal Service is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrests of the remaining two escapees.

Law enforcement are looking for Justin Michael Hughes, 21 and Jerome Lynn Rutherford Jr., 23, according to information from the McCurtain County Sheriff’s Office.

Hughes is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. Rutherford is 6 feet tall and weighs 153 pounds. He has a tattoo on his face.

Jailers discovered the inmates were missing at 8:30 p.m. Thursday during a routine head count, said McCurtain County Sheriff Kevin Clardy.

The inmates were being held on charges of distribution, possessing stolen property and narcotics charges. County, state, tribal, and local law enforcement officers are involved in the manhunt, Clardy said.

The inmates could be armed and dangerous and residents should not approach them.

Investigators are also trying to determine if the escapees are involved with the disappearance of a 24-old McCurtain County woman.

Alyssa Walker-Donaldson was last seen Saturday night leaving a restaurant in Hochatown.

If anyone see these individuals, they should call 911 or the McCurtain County Sheriff’s Office immediately at 580-286-3331.

Tips can be called in to the U.S. Marshals Service at 1-877-926-8332.

Idabel is located about 70 miles northwest of Texarkana. Sevier County is about 50 miles north of Texarkana.
