Texarkana Golf Ranch Texarkana, Texas

Hole No. 10

Par 4

Distance from black tee: 397 yards Distance from blue tee: 351 yards Distance from white tee: 333 yards Distance from gold tee: 170 yards Handicap: 12

Notes: Hole 10 is unforgiving if a golfer loses his tee shot to the right. A creek keeps the tee shot honest for if a weak mishit occurs, the ball is more than likely gone for good. The hole is bunkerless and has some right curvature from all tee boxes sans the gold tee.

Hole No. 11

Par 4

Distance from black tee: 409 yards Distance from blue tee: 354 yards Distance from white tee: 321 yards Distance from gold tee: 207 yards Handicap: 14

Notes: No. 11 features a wide stretch of creek that will leave a golfer pulling out a new golf ball if the tee shot is weak. Once on the fairway, it is best to keep the approach shot to the left as three, jagged oval-shaped bunkers guard the right side. The green is elevated and a golfer will do well to add some strength behind the approach shot.

Hole No. 12

Par 5

Distance from black tee: 546 yards Distance from blue tee: 514 yards Distance from white tee: 491 yards Distance from gold tee: 417 yards Handicap: 2

Notes: Hole 12 is known as the least difficult par 5 of the course. Hit the fairway on the right side and a reward in the form of extra yardage is in store as the ball will roll left. At about 60 yard from the center of the green, the fairway makes a big left turn. An oval-shaped small bunker is situated behind the green.

Hole No. 13

Par 4

Distance from black tee: 315 yards Distance from blue tee: 305 yards Distance from white tee: 278 yards Distance from gold tee: 225 yards Handicap: 18

Notes: A golfer will not want to overpower his tee shot or badly hook it off the tee or the ball is going to join the frogs in the lake. The fairway turns right at about 150 yards from the green’s center and at approximately 100 yards from the approach shot to the green is straight. The green is 35 feet long and is somewhat shaped like an hour glass with the middle being a bit thicker than an hour glass. Two circular small bunkers lie to the right and left of the fairway and are situated 47 yards from the green’s center. Two odd-shaped large bunkers guard the green on the right and begin to take form 32 yards from the center of the green.

Hole No. 14

Par 4

Distance from black tee: 454 yards Distance from blue tee: 404 yards Distance from white tee: 384 yards Distance from gold tee: 352 yards Handicap: 6

Notes: No. 14 begins to dogleg right at about 150 yards from the green’s center. There is a chunk of lake keeping the tee shot honest. A weak shot off the tee or a badly hooked tee shot will lead to a drowned ball. A badly sliced tee shot leads to the rough. Three bunkers keep watch over the hole — one is small and forms 148 yards from the center of the green, the next is u-shaped and begins 126 yards from the green’s center and the third is large and shaped like a wishbone that begins 38 yards from the center of the green. The wishbone-shaped bunker lies on the right side and the other two bunkers are on the left.

Hole No. 15

Par 3

Distance from black tee: 234 yards Distance from blue tee: 214 yards Distance from white tee: 179 yards Distance from gold tee: 115 yards Handicap: 8

Notes: Hole 15 has more water than land. There is little room for error off the tee as a fairway is nonexistent (it is a par 3, after all). The green is 50 feet long. A large stocking-shaped bunker is situated beside the green on the right and begins to shape 26 yards from the center of the green.

Hole No. 16

Par 5

Distance from black tee: 518 yards Distance from blue tee: 498 yards Distance from white tee: 458 yards Distance from gold tee: 448 yards Handicap: 4

Notes: No. 16’s approach off the tee is a straight shot onto the fairway. A bad hook from the approach and the ball will either be in the rough or water. The hole doglegs left at about 175 yards away from the center of the green. A long skinny bunker that curves to the left starts to form at 64 yards away from the green’s center. A bad hook approach shot will lead to the ball taking a swim in the lake. Overshoot the green or miss the green far to the left and the ball will have the same fate.

Hole No. 17

Par 3

Distance from black tee: 204 yards Distance from blue tee: 169 yards Distance from white tee: 145 yards Distance from gold tee: 135 yards Handicap: 16

Notes: On hole 17, a shot to the right side is the right choice. A badly hook tee shots leads to the lake or a long vertical bunker. Some fairway lies directly in front of the green.

Hole No. 18

Par 4

Distance from black tee: 425 yards Distance from blue tee: 380 yards Distance from white tee: 364 yards Distance from gold tee: 315yards Handicap: 10

Notes: No. 18’s fairway is surrounded by trees and rough. Trees lie closer to the fairway on the left side. The fairway curves slightly to the left at about 100 yards from the green’s center and turns back to the right at about 85 yards from the center of the green. The green is kidney-shaped and is 44 feet long.
