Mattie Mae Allen was born on April 21st, 1949, in Mira, LA. She was the last-born daughter to the late Daisy Neal (Mother) and Birk Farrow (Father). She gave her life to Christ and dedicated herself to the church as an usher at Unity Missionary Baptist Church. In her early life she trained as a Nurse’s Aide and worked as a daycare teacher. However, she spent much of her life as a homemaker, raising her eight children. She loved fishing, cooking, traveling, and most of all seeing her family together.

Mattie is preceded in death by her brothers (Bobby Farrow and Jimmy Davis), Sisters (Betty Johnson, Dorothy Massey, and Ernestine Lawson), Daughter (Annette Sutton), Mother (Daisy Neal), and Father (Birk Farrow). Her legacy Continues in the lives of: Three sonswillia­m (Paula) Allen, Philip (Sylvia) Allen Texarkana, AR, Daniel Allen Kansas City, KS; Four Daughters- Latricia (Henry) Griffin, Kansas City, KS, Carmellia (Daniel) Allen, Savannah, GA, Marrietta Allen, Dallas, TX, Rochelle Mitchell, Shertz, TX.; Thirtytwo grandchild­ren, forty-six great-grandchild­ren, and three great-great-grandchild­ren; Special Friends- Pastor H. Keener and Mother Keener; and an insurmount­able number of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

A walk thru visitation & viewing will be 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. Thursday at Lyles Funeral Home.

A celebratio­n of Mrs. Mattie’s life will be 2:00 P.M. Friday at Unity Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Henry E. Keener, officiatin­g.
