Pleasant Grove shuts out Paris in girls soccer match, 7-0
TEXARKANA, Texas — Pleasant Grove’s Lady Hawks dominated Paris, 7-0, in high school soccer action this week.
The Hawks goals were by Rylie Williams, two goals (Emma Boehmke assisted on second); Lexi Allen, two goals (assisted by Supriya Sharma on both); Emma Boehmke, goal (assisted by Bridgette Lundy), Abigail Boehmke goal on penalty kick, and Paris made own goal.
“I thought the girls played really well tonight they moved the ball round creating a lot of chances to score,” said Pleasant Grove coach Andy Allen. “With seven goals we had multiple girls score multiple goals and it’s great when you can shut out the opponent.”

LADY TIGERS PLACE FOURTH
MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas — Host Mount Pleasant won the championship in its own girls golf tournament while Texas High placed fourth.
Mount Pleasant had a team score of 385, followed by Longview (419), Paris (427) and Texas High (443). Liberty-Eylau placed sixth with a 482 score.
Pleasant Grove also had several individuals competing. Morgan Formes was fourth medalist with a 98.
Longview’s Lauren Fisher had the lower round of the day with an 80, and Mount Pleasant’s Kyle Strickland was runner-up with an 83.
Softball EAGLES IMPROVE TO 6-0
FORT WORTH, Texas — Texas A&M-Texarkana Eagles softball team remained unbeaten by sweeping a doubleheader from Arlington Baptist University, 8-1 and 17-6 in 5 innings, Wednesday afternoon at the Clark Stadium Softball Complex.
TAMU-T improves to 6-0 with the victories.

The Eagles will host a doubleheader against Central Baptist College (Conway, Arkansas) starting at noon Friday at Bramlett Field in Spring Lake Park.
L-E TOURNAMENT BEGINS
TEXARKANA, Texas — Liberty-Eylau’s Mike Applebaum Memorial Invitational Softball tournament will get under way this morning at H.E. Markham Park.
Seven games are scheduled today, including Linden-Kildare vs. DeKalb, 10:30 a.m.; LindenKildare vs. Kilgore, noon; DeKalb vs. Kilgore, 1:30 p.m.; Hooks vs. Kilgore JV, 3 p.m.; Hooks vs. James Bowie, 4:30 p.m.; Daingerfield vs. Liberty-Eylau, 6 p.m.; and James Bowie vs. Liberty-Eylau, 7:30 p.m.
Seven schools will be playing 22 games in the three-day event. The format will be round robin.
A celebratory first pitch is scheduled for 5:50 p.m. today.
