Services for Nanette Penny Henry, 88, of Red Oak, will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Linden, with Pastor Mitch Minson officiatin­g. Private burial will be in the Linden Cemetery under the direction of Reederdavi­s Funeral Homes.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, Friday, June 23, 2023, at Reederdavi­s Funeral Home in Linden.

Mrs. Henry was born July 22, 1934, in Linden, the older of twin girls born to Sloan and Ruth Ford Penny. She died Tuesday, June 20, 2023, in Waxahachie, TX. She was a proud graduate of Linden High School Class of 1951 where she was a majorette, band member, and class favorite. She married her high school sweetheart, Billie Jack Henry, on September 7, 1951. Mrs. Henry was a life-long member of First Baptist Church of Linden where she served in various capacities throughout her life, making her singing debut there at the age of two. She was a mother first, but also worked various jobs in her lifetime. She retired from SWEPCO in 1994 after twenty years of employment. Mrs. Henry decided to move to Arabella of Red Oak one year ago and was an active participan­t in her new community, serving on the advisory board, mentoring new residents, being crowned Valentine queen, and even making a television commercial. Her proudest legacy was her family.

She is survived by five children and their spouses - Kim (Rodney) Smith of Linden, Karen (Randy) Fromberg of Marble Falls, Craig (Shonda) Henry of Texarkana, Katressa (David) May of Ferris, and Kyle (Pam) Henry of Linden. She was a loving and fun Nan-naw to thirteen grandchild­ren: Ducer (Lindsey) Smith, Nick (Brandi) Smith, Allix (Cesar) Fromberg Taboada, Chase (Erin) Fromberg, Whitnee Henry (Dallas Stone), Leslee Henry, Shanah (Dusti) Scudday, Cody (Chelsie) May, Lauren May (Jamie Smith), Torri (Jonathan) Goede, Traccer Henry (Kylie Sheppard), Daly (Domonique) Marsh, Zach (Bethany) Marsh. Additional­ly, she leaves behind 25 adoring great-grandchild­ren, two sisters, Suzette Gray (her twin) and Peggy Gray, a sister-in-law, Laura Penny and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, her parents, and her brother, Wilford Penny.
