MICHAEL WILLIAMS

-

Michael Paul Williams, 72, of New Boston, Texas, died in Overland Park, Kansas on November 20, 2023.

He was born in Texarkana, Arkansas in 1951 to Lewis Pershing Williams and Launa Beatrice Shirley-Williams. He was the youngest of three children.

Michael met his wife, Jennifer Beth Keating, in 1978 at a Conroe, Texas diner, where their life journey began. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married in January, 1981. Michael and Jennifer had their first daughter, Rebecca, in 1982, followed by their second daughter, Melissa, in 1984. Michael loved being a father, almost as much as he loved being a grandfather. His granddaughter Elliotte was born in October, 2013, and Marlo in August, 2016.

Michael was passionate about his work, dedicating 25 years to public service as a highway patrol officer for the Texas Department of Public Safety, where he served as a trooper and sergeant. After his retirement in 2001 from the Texas DPS, Michael utilized his accident investigation skills within his new role as a product liability investigator for ESIS for another 20 years.

We couldn’t have asked for a better husband, father, brother, and friend, and will miss Michael every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother and father, many aunts and uncles, and both his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his wife, daughters, son-in-law Brandon Jones, and granddaughters, as well as his sister, Patricia Mccright, his brother, Charles “Butch” Williams, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in Kansas City, Missouri on December 9th, 2023. A second memorial and burial service will be held in New Boston, Texas on January 13th, 2024. Please contact family directly for further details.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
