“My Life With the Walter Boys” - Season 1

The heartwarmi­ng coming-of-age story “My Life With the Walter Boys,” an adaptation of Ali Novak’s 2014 novel of the same name, makes its series premiere Thursday, Dec. 7, on Netflix. Spanning 10 episodes, this drama series follows the story of 15-year old Manhattani­te Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez, “On My Block”), who is forced to leave her privileged and proper life in New York behind after losing her family in a tragic accident. Sent away to live in rural Colorado with her new guardian, Jackie finds herself struggling to adjust to the crowded Walter family, with Katherine (Sarah Rafferty, “Suits”) — her mom’s best friend — her husband George (Marc Blucas, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) and their 10 kids. While Jackie is determined to keep her sights set on a future at Princeton, she’ll have to grapple with her growing feelings for two of the Walter boys, who are drasticall­y different; Alex (Ashby Gentry, “Are You Afraid of the Dark?”), the reliable and bookish brother, and Cole (Noah Lalonde, “Deer Camp ‘86,” 2022), the mysterious and troubled bad boy. Through grief, ambition and new love, Jackie will have to do everything she can to stay true to herself. Created for television by Melanie Halsall (“Itch”), “My Life With the Walter Boys” is directed by Jerry Ciccoritti (“Schitt’s Creek”), Winnifred Jong (“Tokens”) and Nimisha Mukerji (“65_Redroses,” 2009). The series also stars Connor Stanhope (“Garage Sale Mysteries”), Johnny Link (“Dear Edward”), Corey Fogelmanis (“Girl Meets World”), Dean Petriw (“Home Before Dark”), Lennix James (“Superman & Lois”), Alix West Lefler (“Riverdale”), Isaac Arellanes (“Ghostwrite­r”), Myles Perez (“The Curse of Bridge Hollow,” 2022), Zoe Soul (“Reed Between the Lines”), Alisha Newton (“Heartland”), Jaylan Evans (“Power Book III: Raising Kanan”), Ashley Tavares (“Hollywood Heights”), Moheb Jindran (“Make Me a Match,” 2023), Ellie O’brien (“Alert: Missing Persons Unit”), Mya Lowe (“Yellowjack­ets”), Gabrielle Jacinto (“Deadly Midwife,” 2023), Nathaniel Arcand (“Heartland”), Alex Quijano (“Fresh Off the Boat”) and Kolton Stewart (“Locke & Key”).

“Hilda” - Season 3

The third and final season of “Hilda,” a highly-acclaimed Netflix Original targeted for kids, premieres Thursday, Dec. 7, on the streamer. Based on the Eisner-award nominated series of graphic novels created by Luke Pearson, “Hilda” follows the titular blue-haired girl’s (Bella Ramsay, “The Last of Us”) adventure in the bustling city of Trolberg with her friends, David (Oliver Nelson, “Home Fires”) and Frida (Ameerah Falzon, “So Awkward”). According to Pearson, this final season “will move on from the events of the movie [2021’s ‘Hilda and the Mountain King’] and venture into some new territory.” Pearson also states that this season goes beyond the events covered in the graphic novels to explore “aspects of Hilda’s world that have gone unspoken until now.” Season 3 will be composed of seven regular length episodes and a final 70-minute special. Directed by Andy Coyle (“Atomic Puppet”) and executive produced by Clint Eland (“Interrupti­ng Chicken”) and Kurt Mueller (“The Octonauts”), “Hilda also stars Daisy Haggard (“Back to Life”) as Johanna, Kaisa Hammarlund (“Hijack”) as Kaisa and Ako Mitchell (“Johnny English Strikes Again,” 2018) as Wood Man.

“Blood Coast” - Season 1

Created by Kamel Guemra (“Lost Bullet,” 2020), the French police drama series “Blood Coast” kicks off its first season Wednesday, Dec. 6, on Netflix. This new series follows a team of police offers tasked with tracking down a dangerous drug dealer before they can douse the streets of Marseille, France in a bloodbath. However, the team’s daredevil antics may do more farm than good. Furthermor­e, the team welcomes a new recruit that has an agenda of her own. Directed by former cop Olivier Marchal (“Overdose,” 2022), “Blood Coast’s” cast includes Nicolas Duvauchell­e (“Polisse,” 2011), Tewfik Jallab (“Paradise Beach,” 2019), Jeanne Goursaud (“Barbarians”), Moussa Maaskri (“22 Bullets,” 2010), Florence Thomassin (“Tell No One,” 2006), Samir Boitard (“No Limit”) and Gino Montesinos (“I’m a Virgo”). The series is produced by executive producers Sidonie Dumas (“Only God Forgives,” 2013) and Christophe Riandee (“The Neon Demon,” 2016); producers Isabelle Degeorges (“L’art du crime”) and Soizic Gelbard (“Lords of Scam,” 2021); and line producer Roxanne Pinheiro (“Totems”). In addition to Guemra and Marchal, writing credits on “Blood Coast” include Morade Aissaoui (“Frères ennemis,” 2013), Edgar Marie (Paris Countdown, 2013) and newcomer Sledge Bidounga.
