Texas Speaker of the House Dade Phelan will be in Texarkana Monday, February 5th, to raise funds for my opponent, Gary Vandeaver, in the race for the Texas House in District 1. Like all good Northeast Texans, I want to roll out the welcome mat and extend the courtesy that we in this region are known for.
In the race for State Representative, I’m the Donald Trump candidate. I have endorsed his reelection and fully support his America First agenda.
I believe that’s just one of the many reasons why both Governor Greg Abbott and Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller, who President Trump has dubbed “Trump’s Man in Texas,” have endorsed me. They know I will work with President Trump and both of them to fix the nightmare at the Texas/ Mexico border.
It took Dade Phelan and Gary Vandeaver five legislative sessions to pass a border bill in 2023 that doesn’t go nearly far enough, especially in light of the total abandonment of the U.S. Border by President Joe Biden. That’s on Mr. Phelan and Mr. Vandeaver. And, that’s why it’s time for a change.
And, it is one of the important reasons, why President Trump made the extraordinary decision to endorse Speaker Phelan’s Republican primary opponent. Never in Texas’ history has a former President encouraged the defeat of a sitting Speaker of the House from his own party. It’s why President Trump, Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, Attorney General Ken Paxton, Commissioner Sid Miller, and the Republican Party of Texas have all called on Phelan to resign. Instead, he is helping rake in tens of thousands for Vandeaver, one of his top allies in the Texas House.
Governor Abbott, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, Attorney General Paxton, Commissioner Miller, and conservatives across Northeast Texas are all working to defeat Vandeaver.
We cannot afford four more years of Joe Biden in the White House, and we cannot afford two more years of Dade Phelan and Gary Vandeaver in the Texas House!
