“The Marvels” (2023)

She may be one of the most powerful superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Carol Danvers (Brie Larson, “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,” 2010), aka Capt. Marvel, still needs help from time to time when “The Marvels” makes its streaming debut Wednesday, Feb. 7, on Disney+.this newest entry in the long-running film and TV universe follows Carol as she investigates a tear in the fabric of space, the aftermath of new Kree leader Dar-benn’s (Zawe Ashton, “Velvet Buzzsaw,” 2019) use of one half of the legendary Quantum Bands. Upon touching the anomaly, Carol’s powers become entangled with those of S.W.O.R.D. agent Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris, “Wandavision”) and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani, “Ms. Marvel”), the owner of the other Quantum Band. In order to fix their current situation, the three heroes must work together to stop Darbenn from de-stabilizing the universe with her use of the Quantum Band.
