Harvest Day to fill strHHts with crafts, food, fun

YARDLEY - Harvest Day, Yardley’s annual craft and street festival, returns to Canal Street and East College Avenue this year with plenty of quality crafts and delcious food.

The event takes place on Saturday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. presented by the Makefield Women’s Associatio­n and the Yardley Business Associatio­n.

This year’s event will bring 116 craftsmen and artisans to the streets of town where they will be showcasing distinctiv­e and individual items such as fine art, pottery, glass and metal works, jewelry, leather working, edibles and much, much more.

The artisans and crafters showcased at Harvest Day are thoroughly vetted by the 15 members of the Harvest Day committee, and everything must be handmade, according to Carolyn )ogel of the Makefield Women’s Associatio­n.

The long list of crafters include artisans of stained glass, hand-sewn doll clothing, children’s clothing, antique button jewelry, wooden sports plaques, water color art and framed photograph­ic art, homemade fudge, chocolate and nut brittle, twig art and ceramics, painted gourds, floral arrangemen­ts, tooled leather and wire wrapped jewelry, quilted items, children’s hair accessorie­s, scented soaps and organic skin care, homemade jams and jellies, and glass blowing.

In addition to the many crafters, food vendors will be offering sumptuous treats and tastes. Styer’s Market will be there with its delicious baked goods and pies; Dutch Magic with chicken pitas and funnel cakes; Chef Johnny Bravos Surf and Turf with seafood and crab cakes, and the Pizza Wagon offering made to order pizzas.
