Police ID suspect in brutal beating of Lincoln Ave. man
BRISTOL BOROUGH - 3ROLFH KDYH LGHnWLfiHG WKH suspect wanted in connection with the brutal beating of a Bristol Borough resident after an alleged dispute over a card game. Bristol Borough Sgt. Joe Moors said an arrest warrant has been issued for Tony Blount, 31, of Levit- town.
The victim, Alex MarfiRWWL, 44, RI WKH 100 EORFN of Lincoln Avenue, was released from St. Mary Medical Center on Sunday with 20 stitches and several staples in his head, and bruises and contusions all over his body, Moors said.
Charges against include aggravated Blount assault, burglary, criminal trespass, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. Police do not know Blount’s whereDERuWV EuW DUH FRnfiGHnW WKDW he will be taken into custody soon, the sergeant said.
According to police records, the beating was the result of a disagreement durLnJ D FDUG JDPH DW 0DUfiRWWL’V home early Saturday morn- ing. Police were called to the scene of the disturbance about 1:30 a.m. but most of the players had left. About T Saturday night, Blount, accompanied by another man, UHWuUnHG WR 0DUfiRWWL’V KRPH, barged in through an unlocked door and proceeded to beat him.
“The victim told me that, at one point, the suspect smashed a guitar over the back of his head,” Moors said.
Police did not say whether the man who accompanied Blount faced any charges. Neighbors in this usually quiet, tree-lined streets said that following the incident, 0DUfiRWWL’V IURnW VWHSV wHUH covered with blood.
