Po­lice ID sus­pect in bru­tal beat­ing of Lin­coln Ave. man

BRIS­TOL BOR­OUGH - 3ROLFH KDYH LGHnWL­fiHG WKH sus­pect wanted in con­nec­tion with the bru­tal beat­ing of a Bris­tol Bor­ough res­i­dent af­ter an al­leged dis­pute over a card game. Bris­tol Bor­ough Sgt. Joe Moors said an ar­rest war­rant has been is­sued for Tony Blount, 31, of Levit- town.

The vic­tim, Alex MarfiRWWL, 44, RI WKH 100 EORFN of Lin­coln Av­enue, was re­leased from St. Mary Med­i­cal Cen­ter on Sun­day with 20 stitches and sev­eral sta­ples in his head, and bruises and con­tu­sions all over his body, Moors said.

Charges against in­clude ag­gra­vated Blount as­sault, bur­glary, crim­i­nal tres­pass, reck­less en­dan­ger­ment and dis­or­derly con­duct. Po­lice do not know Blount’s whereDERuWV EuW DUH FRn­fiGHnW WKDW he will be taken into cus­tody soon, the sergeant said.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice records, the beat­ing was the re­sult of a dis­agree­ment durLnJ D FDUG JDPH DW 0DU­fiRWWL’V home early Satur­day morn- ing. Po­lice were called to the scene of the dis­tur­bance about 1:30 a.m. but most of the play­ers had left. About T Satur­day night, Blount, ac­com­pa­nied by an­other man, UHWuUnHG WR 0DU­fiRWWL’V KRPH, barged in through an un­locked door and pro­ceeded to beat him.

“The vic­tim told me that, at one point, the sus­pect smashed a gui­tar over the back of his head,” Moors said.

Po­lice did not say whether the man who ac­com­pa­nied Blount faced any charges. Neigh­bors in this usu­ally quiet, tree-lined streets said that fol­low­ing the in­ci­dent, 0DU­fiRWWL’V IURnW VWHSV wHUH cov­ered with blood.
