Head coach Tracey Arndt, of Levittown, is the third person to take charge of the team in the last four seasons. Arndt knew the situation she was walking into when she took the job and she’s treated it with an understanding — and respect — of the position the players have been put under.
“I don’t know how they are doing it,” said Arndt, who has the Panthers off to a 3-0-1 start. “This is their year and it is their time to do what they love best about PDS hockey. I just asked for their support and their trust in what I’m doing as a coach.”
Andrea Jenkins, Zeeza Cole, Cammie McNeely and Corinne rrisko are the seniors on the roster.
There might have been some trepidation with the seniors in the beginning, but now they couldn’t be happier.
“This one is the perfect fiW,” SDLG -HQNLQS, ZKR LS headed to Princeton next fall. “Everyone loves her and we have a great staff. As a group, we always try to make the best out of a situation and we try to come out strong from it.”
So it shouldn’t be a surprise that the Panthers off to a good start. Jenkins, Emma nuigley, Mary Travers give them a talented forward line while rrisko and goalie Sarah Trigg anchor a stingy defense.
PDS is going to get tested in the next week with Academy of the New Church, South Hunterdon and Lawrenceville waiting in the wings.
Jenkins, who has scored in every game, and nuigley each have four goals. Trigg has a 1.00 goals-against average.
“The girls have been working extremely hard,” said Arndt who coached the sport at Pennsbury and played for both the lady calcons and Team rSA in international competitions. “What I’m trying to do is keep the traditions of PDS sound. I want to keep them all on a positive note and create a culture of hard work, effort and teamwork.”
It’s still early in the seaSRQ, EUW WKURUJK WKH fiUSW four games, Arndt and PDS are perfect together.
