Police Department:

Monday, Oct. 1

SrSPICIOrS PeONb CALL - Shortly before 1 p.m. police responded to a home in Wrightstow­n in reference to a suspicious phone call. The resident said that he had received a phone call, marked “private,” from man saying that the resident had won a Publisher’s Clearing eouse sweepstake­s. The man asked if he would be home between 2 and 4 p.m. The resident confirmed that he would be home and waiting. The resident told the officer that he felt that the man was trying to find out if anyone would be home during the afternoon hours and if not, burglarize his home. The officer advised him to contact police should he receive any further calls or see anyone suspicious in the area.

SrSPICIOrS sAN - At approximat­ely 4:20 p.m., police received a report of a suspicious van parked on eoney Locust Lane. When the officer arrived he recognized the vehicle as a contractor’s vehicle who was doing work in the area. No further police action was required.

Tuesday, Oct. 2

TebFT - A student at Council Rock eigh School North reported that she mistakenly left her cell phone with her lunch box in a classroom around 11:45 a.m. When she returned to retrieve her property around 2:15 p.m. the cell phone was gone. The phone was a Samsung dalaxy S3 valued at approximat­ely $500.

SPORTS BAd FOrND - While on patrol in eelen Randle Park around 9 p.m. an officer found a black sports equipment bag in the parking lot. No one was in the area so the bag was brought back to headquarte­rs for safe keeping in hopes that the owner of the bag will claim it.

Wednesday, Oct. 3

MISSINd PROPbRTY - Shortly after 1 p.m., a resident from Second Street Pike reported that she hired a mover, but since she was unable to move in right away the items were placed in storage. Within the past two weeks the movers delivered the items to her new home, but she has been unable to locate some of her property. The homeowner told police that the missing property includes her jewelry chests.

SrSPbCTbD DrI - Police were dispatched to Stoopville Road near Rosefield Drive at approximat­ely 10:40 p.m. for a traffic accident. rpon arrival the officer observed a Black Saab 93 that had sustained disabling heavy front-end damage. The officer spoke with the operator of the vehicle, a 47-year-old resident from Furlong. The officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and asked if he needed medical attention. The driver declined. ee was taken to St. Mary Medical Center where he submitted to a blood draw for testing. Charges are pending the results of the blood work.

FRArD -A resident from Blue Bell Court reported an incident of credit card fraud. ee explained to the officer that when he received his statement there were more than $9,500 in fraudulent charges.

Friday, Oct. 5

ILLbdAL RIDb - While on patrol Wrenwood Way around 5:30 p.m. an officer witnessed two 13-year-old juveniles riding a “minibike” and a golf cart on Pheasant Lane. The officer and the juveniles went to the home of one of the juveniles where he met with an adult and explained to her and the juveniles about the prohibitio­ns regarding riding the vehicles on the township street.

JrsbNILb DISTrRBANC­b - At approximat­ely 8:08 p.m. police were dispatched to area near the Wendy’s Restaurant after a passing motorist called to report numerous juveniles fighting. rpon arrival, officers observed crowds of juveniles who had been attending a football game at Council Rock eigh School North moving between the high school and the shopping center. Police dispersed the crowds and requested assistance from neighborin­g police department­s. Officer from Newtown Borough, Lower Makefield and rpper Makefield responded in order to monitor the crowds during and after the game. Newtown Township Police spoke with several school officials including the principal about the juveniles leaving the game at halftime and creating problems in the area of the shopping center. The principal said that at future games, if people left during halftime, they would not be readmitted to the game. It was also suggested that the parents of the attendees pick up their kids from the school and not from the adjacent shopping center parking lots.

CRIMINAL MISCeIbF - Just before 10 p.m. police were dispatched to the PetSmart store on bagle Road for a report that the rear door of the business had been damaged. bmployees were able to secure the building. They told police that the damage may have been done by juveniles who had been fighting in the immediate area.

Saturday, Oct. 6

TebFT - Around 12:20 a.m. police were dispatched to McCaffrey’s Market for the report of a stolen cell phone. The officer met with a 13-year-old and his mother. The teenager told the officer that the phone was in his knapsack that he left unattended in front of the store around 10:30. When he returned he discovered the Samsung phone valued at $200 was no longer in his bag.

OsbRTrRNbD PIChrP TRrCh - Shortly after 4 a.m., police responded to the area of Durham Road south of Worthingto­n Mill Road for the report of a one-vehicle traffic accident involving a pickup truck which had overturned in a field. Officers found a black F-250 resting on its driver’s side in a field approximat­ely 75 feet off of Durham Road. The front end and side of the truck were heavily damaged and debris was scattered around the area. A utility pole had also been damaged. It was determined that there was no operator on the scene. An investigat­ion revealed that the truck was owned by a 26-year-old from Linton eill Road. Officers made contact with the owner who told police that he was traveling on Durham Road when a deer ran into the road. ee said that he “lost control’ of his truck and remembered “rolling” the truck and then exiting the truck and “running” to his mother’s house. Through the course of the investigat­ion it was determined that the truck was operating on a suspended registrati­on and that the truck was uninsured. ee will receive citations charging him with unattended hit and run, failure to maintain insurance and operating with a suspended registrati­on.

Monday, Oct. 8

CONbS MOsbD - Around 2:20 a.m., police received informatio­n that several traffic cones and barrels had been moved into the roadway on North Drive from a constructi­on area. The responding officer moved the cones back to the area of the culvert and the roadway was once again passable.

IDbNTITY TebFT - At approximat­ely 5:20 p.m., a resident from Prince Philip Court reported that he was the victim of identity theft. ee told police that someone had opened or attempted to open charge accounts with four different companies.

Tuesday, Oct. 9

ACCIDbNT - Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Swamp Road for a one-vehicle traffic accident. An officer spoke with the driver and determined that there were no injuries, but the vehicle did strike a tree and damaged a roadway sign. The driver was able to drive the car from the scene

Thursday, Oct. 11

CRIMINAL MISCeIbF - A resident from Leedom Way called police around 8:25 a.m. to report that the passenger side rear window of his vehicle had been smashed at some point overnight. The responding officer did not find any object that might have been thrown at the window. There was nothing reported stolen from the vehicle.

SrSPICIOrS ACTIsITY - A resident of Williams Avenue in Wrightstow­n called around 10:45 a.m. to report a suspicious man going to homes on the street with a hand truck and then going around to the rear of the homes. The man provided police with identifica­tion confirming that he was subcontrac­ting for PbCO and installing electric meters.

FIRbWORhS COMPLAINT - Around 4:40 p.m., police responded the area of the Sherwin Williams Paint Store for a complaint that there were juveniles setting off fireworks. rpon arrival, the officer met two teens who admitted to setting off firecracke­rs and apologized for their actions.

BLOWN TIRbS - At approximat­ely 9:25 p.m. a dump truck traveling on the Newtown Bypass had two, rear tires blow out scattering debris on the highway and causing damage to three other vehicles.
