Gunman hits two businesses
LOWER MAhEFIELD – 3ROLFH Ln BuFNs CRunWy are investigating whether the same gunman held up two businesses just a day DSDrW Ln LRwHr 0DNHfiHOG 7RwnsKLS DnG DERuW fiYH miles away in Langhorne Borough.
On Dec. 10, a man dressed in black held up the Mail-N-More Store in the LRwHr 0DNHfiHOG SKRSSLnJ CHnWHr Rn SWRny HLOO 5RDG. A little more than 24 hours later, a man, also dressed in black and brandishing a gun robbed the Luk-Oil gas station in Langhorne Borough
“There may be a connection. We’re not sure yet,” sDLG LRwHr 0DNHfiHOG 3ROLFH CKLHI .Hn CROuzzL. “Our detectives are talking to (Langhorne). We’re looking at the circumstances at how that happened, trying to get video,” said the chief. “We can’t say for certain at this point that it is but they are looking at it.”
CROuzzL sDLG DW DERuW 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 10, a man entered a side door at MailN-More just as employees were getting ready to close the store for the day.
The man pointed a gun at two employees and demanded money. He then flHG IrRP WKH EuLOGLnJ through the same door with about $400 in cash, said the chief.
“No one was injured WKDnNIuOOy,” sDLG CROuzzL.
2IfiFHrs wLWK WKH GHSDrWment’s canine unit attempted to track the gunman for several blocks before losing the track. “That’s an indication he probably got into a YHKLFOH,” sDLG CROuzzL.
The man, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, was dressed in black and wearing a “hood mask” that covered every- thing but CROuzzL.
Police are reviewing security cameras at the store to see what they reveal, said the chief.
On Dec. 11 at about 9 or 9W30 p.m., Langhorne BorRuJK 3ROLFH CKLHI SWHYH Mawhinney told BucksLocalNews that a man brandishing a handgun and dressed in black entered the store at Pine Street and Maple Avenue and demanded money. He got away with a small amount of cash.
“It’s very rare that we have a robbery here,” said Mawhinney.
