Athlete of the Week Ashley Smith, Conwell-egan basketball
First impressions can be diffiFult, but Ashley Smith Fertainly made one with the Eagles at Bristol’s Tipoff Tournament DeF. 7-8. There, in her first game for Conwell-Egan after transferring from a sFhool in Delaware, the senior point guard/shooting guard sFored 23 points while adding eight assists and four steals to help the Eagles to a 66-33 win over Morrisville.
And she was just getting started, as in the Fhampionship game against Truman, she hit four 3-pointers and sFored a game-high 27 points. That effort helped the Eagles win their third tipoff tournament in a row, this time by a 69-41 sFore.
