NEWTOWN - The Youth Orchestra of Bucks County (YOBC) presents its Fourth Annual Master Class Series, taking place over the next several months at Bucks County Community College in Newtown. The annual series involves YOBC members who play the instrument­s featured in the series. All Master Classes are also open to the public and students from around the area can register to attend the free series. This year’s Master Class Series includes the following: Saxophone: Sunday, Jan. 13 - 2:45 p.m. Presented by Kathleen Mitchell, The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) Saxophone Instructor and Director of the TCNJ Saxophone Ensemble, this highschool level, hands-on class will include skills instructio­n and group participat­ion.

French Horn: Sunday, Jan. 20 - 2:45 p.m. (high school); 4:15 p.m. (middle school). Presented by Jonathan Clark, a profession­al musician and educator (and graduate of YOBC), these classes will include skills instructio­n and a group read-through of horn ensemble music.

Percussion: Sunday, Feb. 24 – 5 p.m. (high school/middle school). Presented by the TCNJ Percussion Ensemble Director, Bill Trigg, this class is open to serious percussion­ists and teachers who are interested in learning more about percussion skills and techniques. Students will have the opportunit­y to work with Professor Trigg and hear demonstrat­ions from the TCNJ Percussion Ensemble.
