Presbyterians welcome interim pastor, announce upcoming concert
bWTOWk BOoOUdH – The kewtown Presbyterian Church welcomes the oev. Fred D. Milligan Jr. as Interim Pastor/Head of Staff beginning March 1.
The oev. Milligan is a graduate of Bethel University in McKenzie, Tenn., received his Masters of Divinity from sanderbilt Divinity School, and was ordained in 19T8.
He has served as pastor for ecumenical campus ministries, inner city and suburban churches, and has served many Presbyterian congregations as an interim pastor, most recently as Interim Pastor/Head of Staff of Presbyterian Church of Traverse City, Mich., with more than 1,100 members.
The oev Milligan will lead kewtown Presbyterian Church through its journey to call a permanent Head of Staff.
He believes “that to be a steward of all we have and all we are is an essential aspect of Christian discipleship in our consumer society.”
The oev. Milligan is an active sportsman and enjoys international traveling, reading and dancing.
The kewtown Presbyterian Church invites the public to attend worship services this Sunday, March 3 at 8, 9 or 10:45 a.m. and meet the oev. Milligan during the coffee hour at 10:15 a.m.
*** The Concert Series at kewtown Presbyterian Church presents the Chorale & Chamber Singers from the University of Pittsburgh at dreensburg on Sunday, March 10 at 4 p.m.
The Pitt-dreensburg Chorale and Chamber Singers are the university’s two choral ensembles. Open to all in the univerVLWy FRPPunLWy, WKHy DUH HPEDUNLnJ Rn WKHLU fiUVW WRuU VLnFH the inception of the chorale 11 years ago.
In their performance at kewtown Presbyterian Church, they are honored to offer a world premiere, “I Would Live in Your Love” by composer Peter Fischer. The concert also features selections from the campus’ spring musical production, “bleanor: An American Love Story,” as well as works of Francis Poulenc, Franz Schubert, oichard binhorn and bliza dilkyson.
The performance at kewtown Presbyterian Church is free to the public. Donations will be accepted by the ensemble to help cover costs of their tour.
