Officials break ground for ‘The Birches’
NEWTOWN – Heritage Senior Living, LLC celebrated the groundbreaking of its new senior living community opening early 2014, The Birches, Newtown. A ceremony was held Wednesday, June 5 at The Birches site at 70 Durham Road, Newtown.
Representatives from Heritage Senior Living and members of the community were present at the groundbreaking ceremony to share their thoughts on The Birches and what it will bring to the Newtown community.
“The Birches will be a personal care community with 50 personal care apartments and 41 apartments designed for residents with various forms of cognitive impairment,” said hevin McCollum, vice president of Heritage Senior Living. “And while we are all proud of how beautiful this community will be, it’s all about the people; those that helped us get here as well as those that will soon work here, and the residents that will call this community their home. We are thrilled to be part of the Newtown community, and we are dedicated to our mission of providing the best care to our residents in a community that treats people with the utmost dignity and respect.”
The Birches in Newtown will offer personal care and memory care services for seniors who wish to remain active, but need assistance with daily tasks. The month-to-month lease includes three meals daily served in the dining room, housekeeping and laundry services, social events and transportation to local outings and appointments plus 24-hour personal care assistance and medication management.
