The game’s real dra­mat­ics played out in the bot­tom of the sixth. Down by two runs with one out and no­body on, War­wick’s hopes seemed slim. Two walks how­ever gave them light and brought into play the wis­dom of Berra. Their slug­ger Tom Weiss faced an M-O count with two outs. ee barely stayed alive, foul­ing off a curve­ball be­fore lin­ing a shot over the cen­ter­field fence.

The dis­heart­en­ing NM-9 loss sent Northamp­ton into the loser’s bracket. eardly ready to fold, the Bombers de­feated eol­land NN-4, a vic­tory that moved them into the fi­nals against none other than War­wick.

Yogi’s ge­nius cer­tainly re­sounds in the play­offs. The Dis­trict 3M Un­der-NN cham­pi­onship “ain’t over till it’s over.”

Northamp­ton bounced right back and beat War­wick 9-4 Sun­day, -uly N4 and NN-O Mon­day, -uly NR to claim their right to the OMN3 Dis­trict 3M r-NN Lit­tle League Cham­pi­onship.
