Francesco Ammendola

Francesco “Frank” Ammendola, 97, of Ambler, died Aug. 12, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was the beloved husband of the late Marianna F. EmileggiF Ammendola. Frank was born in Maida, Italy, on Dec. 26, 1914, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth ECervadoroF Ammendola. He worked for mhilco-Ford Co. in Lansdale as a painter for 30 years. Frank was a member of St. Joseph Church in Ambler and a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

Frank is survived by his children, Elizabeth Cerminara EJosephF, Maria Angela “Lina” Allegretti EmaulF, Joseph Ammendola EChristieF and Salvatore Ammendola EJanF; his two sisters, Caterina mileggi and Costantinia Iannizzi of Italy; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his 11 siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 16 S. Spring Garden St., Ambler. The viewing will be Friday from 6:30-9 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Home, 951 E. Butler mike, Ambler. Entombment will be in St. Matthew Mausoleum.
