Fern Naomi Kel­ton

Fern Naomi Kel­ton, 8V, of New­town Square, Pa., for­merly of Ta­maqua, Ambler and West Chester, Pa., died Mon­day, Sept. 24, 2012, at her home.

She was the wife of the late Franklin Crothers Kel­ton, M.D., who passed away in 2008. Born in Ta­maqua, Pa., she was the daugh­ter of the late Ge­orge Wash­ing­ton Clem­son and Es­ther Dorothea (Schad) Clem­son.

Fern was a grad­u­ate of Ta­maqua High School, Class of 1V40, and Bryn Mawr Hospi­tal School of Nurs­ing, Class of 1V4P.

She was a re­tired nurse and house­wife, and worked un­til 1V45 as an as­sis­tant night su­per­vi­sor at Bryn Mawr Hospi­tal.

She was a mem­ber of St. Fran­cis in the Fields Epis­co­pal Church, Malvern, Pa. She was also a mem­ber of the Amer­i­can Le­gion Aux­il­iary and the Bryn Mawr Hospi­tal Alumni As­so­ci­a­tion.

She is sur­vived by a son, Franklin C. Kel­ton Jr., M.D., and his wife, Denise vonkoske, of West Chester, Pa.; a daugh­ter, Bar­bara Kel­ton Stein­hilber, and her hus­band, Chap­lain Gustaf H. Stein­hilber (Col., U.S. Army, ret.) of Wind­sor, Pa.; a brother, Ron­ald Clem­son of Ta­maqua; grand­chil­dren Katherine Kel­ton, El­iz­a­beth Kel­ton Shee­han, Caro­line Kel­ton San­borne, Sarah Kel­ton, Jill Mate­jkovic, Heather Mate­jkovic, Matthew Stein­hilber, Jody Stein­hilber and Lisa Kris­tine Dale; three great­grand­chil­dren; and nieces and neph­ews.

In ad­di­tion to her hus­band and par­ents, she was pre­ceded in death by three broth­ers, John, Wil­liam and Richard Clem­son.

A memo­rial ser­vice will be held at 11 a.m. Fri­day, Sept. 28, at St. Fran­cis in the Fields Epis­co­pal Church, 68V Su­gar­town Road, Malvern. Friends and rel­a­tives may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. The Rev. Glyn Ruppe-Mel­nyk will RI­fiFLDWH.

A memo­rial ser­vice will also be held at 11 a.m. Satur­day, Sept. 2V, at wiz­el­man­nRoche Funeral Home, 500 East Broad St., Ta­maqua, Pa. Call­ing hours will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Chap­lain Gustaf H. Stein­hilber, (Col., U.S. Army, ret.) RI­fiFLDWLQJ.

In­ter­ment will be at Odd Fel­lows Ceme­tery, Ta­maqua, Pa.
