Fern Naomi Kelton

Fern Naomi Kelton, 8V, of Newtown Square, Pa., formerly of Tamaqua, Ambler and West Chester, Pa., died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at her home.

She was the wife of the late Franklin Crothers Kelton, M.D., who passed away in 2008. Born in Tamaqua, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George Washington Clemson and Esther Dorothea (Schad) Clemson.

Fern was a graduate of Tamaqua High School, Class of 1V40, and Bryn Mawr Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1V4P.

She was a retired nurse and housewife, and worked until 1V45 as an assistant night supervisor at Bryn Mawr Hospital.

She was a member of St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church, Malvern, Pa. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Bryn Mawr Hospital Alumni Associatio­n.

She is survived by a son, Franklin C. Kelton Jr., M.D., and his wife, Denise vonkoske, of West Chester, Pa.; a daughter, Barbara Kelton Steinhilbe­r, and her husband, Chaplain Gustaf H. Steinhilbe­r (Col., U.S. Army, ret.) of Windsor, Pa.; a brother, Ronald Clemson of Tamaqua; grandchild­ren Katherine Kelton, Elizabeth Kelton Sheehan, Caroline Kelton Sanborne, Sarah Kelton, Jill Matejkovic, Heather Matejkovic, Matthew Steinhilbe­r, Jody Steinhilbe­r and Lisa Kristine Dale; three greatgrand­children; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John, William and Richard Clemson.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church, 68V Sugartown Road, Malvern. Friends and relatives may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. The Rev. Glyn Ruppe-Melnyk will RIfiFLDWH.

A memorial service will also be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2V, at wizelmannR­oche Funeral Home, 500 East Broad St., Tamaqua, Pa. Calling hours will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Chaplain Gustaf H. Steinhilbe­r, (Col., U.S. Army, ret.) RIfiFLDWLQ­J.

Interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua, Pa.
