The Ambler SAAC (Senior Adult Activities Center), located at 45 Forest Ave in Ambler will hold the following events:

• Tai Chi every Monday and Thursday at 11 a.m.

• The Sandwich Generation (A Caregiver Program for Boomers and Their Loved Ones, or How to Handle those Delicate Conversati­ons): Dec. 4 from T:15 to 8:15 p.m. The issues of aging often leave family caregivers speechless. All sorts of potentiall­y GLIfiFXOW VLWXDWLRQV DULVH DV we age. What does a grown daughter say to her dad when he’s hit a light pole with the car? How does an adult son ask his mom if she’s taking her medication­s like she should? And how do siblings approach their parents the clutter accumulati­ng in their home? These sensitive topics can be so challengin­g, sometimes it’s easier not to talk at all, which can lead to unresolved issues. This program is designed to help adult children and their aging parents deal with those topics that often make conYHUVDWL­RQV GLIfiFXOW. )RUPHUly called the 40/T0 Rule, this program is based on original research that discovered that nearly one-third of adults in the U.S. have a major communicat­ion obstacle with their parents that stems from the parent-child role. If you’re a Baby Boomer with aging parents, this informativ­e Caregiver Program is designed to help you start HYHQ WKH PRVW GLIfiFXOW FRQversati­ons with your senior loved ones, before a crisis has occurred and even after one already has happened. You will learn conversati­on starters and communicat­ion tips to help resolve issues while maintainin­g dignity. • Lights Along the Schuylkill –The Houses of Fairmount Park (without leaving Ambler!): Dec. 6 from T to 8:30 p.m. Take a tour through several of the historic houses of Fairmount Park, the largest municipal park in the world, to see what life was like at the beginning of the 19th century in Philadelph­ia. The Montessory School, 1701 Jarrettown Road, Dresher, will offer TaiJi and QiGong through Nov. 13 on Tuesdays from 6:30 to T:30 p.m. TaiJi is a Chinese martial art. The form consists of a series of choreograp­hed self-defense movements, linked together and performed slowly. Form practice develops awareness of the principals (balance, structure, release of tensions, breath and energy), body control, focus, concentrat­ion and discipline. niGong means to do quality work on the energy of the body. Blue Bell School of Dance, 921 Penllyn Blue Bell Pike, Blue Bell, hosts Argentine Tango Classes and a Milonga dance party every Friday evening. Lessons start at 8:30 p.m. followed by dancing at 9:30 p.m. Andrew Conway, master Argentine Tango dancer, instructor and performer and his partner Linda Chase will instruct. The Montgomery Hospital Medical Center will offer the following classes:

The Diabetes Education Center will offer day and evening classes each month. Health insurance pays for diabetes education classes. Preregistr­ation is required. • Come out and join the Ambler Area YMCA’s Teen and Junior Leaders Club. Participan­ts are given the freedom to plan community service projects year round and truly make a difference in the lives of people in need. • Did you know that the new Ambler Area YMCA holds children’s birthday parties at its site for members and non-members as well. The Ambler Y does all WKH wRUN IURP VWDUW WR fiQLVK and birthday parties include a personaliz­ed cake, ice cream, beverage and paper products. Parties are held on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and include two party hosts to lead activities, set-up, clean-up and assist with serving. You can have a Splash Party for children ages six to 12 in the new zero depth entry pool with water slide and spray fountains. Up to 25 children have exclusive use of the pool area with 30 minutes in the party room.
