Josephine G. Laboissonn­iere, 94, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at Brandywine Assisted Living in Shrewsbury.

She lived in Shrewsbury all her life. Josephine graduated from Red Bank Catholic High School in 1936 and Drakes Business College in 1938. She was previously employed as a procuremen­t clerk at Fort Monmouth until marriage. She was a member of the Shrewsbury Senior Homesteade­rs, the bowling league and the Schussboom­ers Ski Club for more than 30 years. She skied throughout the Northeast states, Canada and Switzerlan­d. She was an avid Mets fan. Josephine loved to travel with her husband, Gene, and with their van they went cross-county. They also visited Florida, Italy, Spain, and Jerusalem.

Josephine was a resident of Brandywine Assisted Living since July 2007. A special thanks to the nurses, care givers, and friends she made there. She loved all the activities, especially playing bingo.

She is predecease­d by her husband, Eugene W. Laboissonn­iere; brother Pasqual Tomaino and sister Mary P. Tomaino. Surviving are her three daughters, Mary Jean and her husband, Alan Stark, of Pennsylvan­ia, Roberta and her husband, John Fragale, of Bayville and Eugenia Laboissonn­iere of Galloway Township; her brother Alphonse Tomaino of Red Bank; and her grandchild­ren, Daniel and Jonathan Stark and Jennifer and Steve Fragale. She is also survived by two nephews, one niece and a few cousins.

A visitation was held at the John E. Day Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at 9 a.m. Interment followed at Shrewsbury Presbyteri­an Cemetery.
