ADOPTION DAY

The City of Antlers Dog Pound will be hosting an ADOPTION DAY on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Wildlife Heritage Center Museum in Antlers. Adoption Fee is $25.00. All proceeds go to the Antlers Dog Pound. Some dogs are rescues and some were surrendere­d by family after their human passed. Please consider giving them their furever home!

WINTER READING BINGO

Antlers Public Library is hosing Booker’s Buddies Winter Reading Bingo. This event is open to those ages 13 through 17. It is winter time so let’s all curl up with our favorite book and play a bingo challenge! This event will run from February 1st until someone gets a bingo! You can pick up your bingo card and instructio­ns at the library, call the library or email the library at librarian@antlers.lib.ok.us.

FRESH START NUTRITION PROGRAM

Starting February 2nd from 3-4 p.m. at the Antlers Public Library. All lessons include easy recipes and free cooking tools. Program by OSU Extension Community Nutrition Program. REPUBLICAN CONVENTION

The Republican County and Precinct Convention­s will be held on February 24, 2024, at the Pushmataha Hospital Community Room. The Precinct Convention starts at 10:00 a.m. and the County Convention starts at 11:00 a.m. You must be a registered Republican to attend these meetings. There will be no meeting on February 15th.

SOUP AND SANDWICH LUNCHEON

Please join the Antlers Methodist Women at their winter Soup and Sandwich Luncheon event! It will take place on Monday, February 26th from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Antlers Methodist Church (243 N High Street). Dine in, to go or delivery available. $10 for your choice of soup, sandwich, and a dessert. Soups: Chicken Noodle or Vegetable Beef. BINGO

There will be a Bingo event, hosted by Elara Caring, on February 29, 2024, from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Antlers Senior Center (248 NW A) in Antlers. Lunch will be served afterwards to Seniors ages 60 and up for a $2 donation. Lunch must be reserved by Feb 28th. Come and join us for a good time of Bingo with friends and fun prizes. ANTLERS CLEANUP

Don’t Trash Antlers! Join us for a citywide cleanup of Antlers. Multiple days planned: Friday, March 1 & Saturday, March 2; Friday, April 5 & Saturday, April 6; and Friday, May 3 & Saturday, May 4. Those that wish to participat­e can meet at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church Parking Lot in Antlers.

DEER CHILI COOKOFF

The Deer Capital Tourism Associatio­n is proud to present the 2024 event will take place on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Wildlife Heritage Center Museum (610 SW “D” Street) in Antlers. Entry Fee is $10 per cook. The event includes: 2 lbs of ground deer meat will be provided with entry. Cooks must provide all other items needed to complete chili on site. Cooks meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. Chili turn in will be from 2:00 p.m. - 2:10 p.m. If the cook fails to turn in their chili by the - ceeds will go to the DCTA. For more info call 580-2985635. ANTLERS GUN SHOW

Antlers VFW Post 3658 will once again host the Antlers Gun Show. This year the event will take place at the Antlers Fair Barn on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Admission is $8, children 12 and under free. Military, NRA Members, Uniformed Law Enforcemen­t, First Responders and Selling or Trading.

DEDICATION & GRAND OPENING

The City of Atnlers and the Deer Capital Tourism Associaito­n will host a Grand Opening and Dedication of the Madge Centry Community Park (located at 703 SW C Street in Antlers) on Monday, April 1, 2024, following the city council meeting. The meeting is at 12:00 p.m.

CHOCTAW NATION PRINCESS PAGEANT

The Choctaw Nation Princess Pageant for District 7 will be held in Wright City on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the Wright City Choctaw Nation Community Center. SCRAP TIRE COLLECTION EVENT

The Pushmataha Oklahoma Department of Environmen­tal Quality are hosting a Scrap Tire Collection Event. The event will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 9am – 4pm at the Antlers Fairground­s. Residents of Pushmataha County are free to bring old tires to this event. Anyone in the business of selling and or changing tires, any person residing outside of Pushmataha County cannot bring tires to this event. What tires can duty truck tires, motorcycle and moped tires, bus tires and agricultur­al equipment/ tractor tires. What tires road vehicle tires, Airplane tires, Bicycle tires, Mower/ wheelbarro­w tires and not agricultur­al tires (forklift and other heavy equipment tires). RTR Environmen­tal will remove the old tires after the event. Tires are processed into various products - ground mulch or molded rubber products. HOSPICE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Elara Caring needs Hospice Volunteers to help someone’s life! They need volunteers in our community for social/companion visits, Phone Calls, Crafters/ Quilters, Yard Work, Haircuts, Veteran Volunteers Teams. PUSH CO LUNCH

Pushmataha Hospital Auxiliary will once again be serving food to the public! Lunch will be served from 11am12:30pm, Monday through Friday, out of their Auxiliary room. Lunch will include a full meal with desert and a beverage for only $7.00 each (Sandwich options available at a reduced price). Come by and try a hot, fresh, homemade meal at a discounted price!

HOSPITAL RATTAN COMMUNITY CENTER

Lunch every Wednesday – lunch starts at 12-noon/ to go orders start at 11:30 a.m. $5 per meal.

Meet the third Thursday of every month in the Community Room at the Pushmataha County Hospital at 7pm. Everyone is welcome. (THERE WILL BE NO MEETING IN FEBRUARY).

FOOD BANK & FREE CLINIC

First Baptist Church Community Food Bank is open from 9am to 11:30 every Wednesday. The Free Clinic is open the last Thursday of every month starting at 5 pm.
