- By Megan Finnerty

Atoast is a must when celebrating the state’s centennial. There’s so much to raise a glass to here in Arizona, from the splendor of the Grand Canyon to the austere beauty of the Sonoran Desert to the glittering vibrancy of the state’s nightlife. Yes, nightlife. Thirty bartenders from across the state were asked to develop a drink that honored the state’s Western legacy, its natural beauty, its points of pride — cattle, citrus, cotton, climate and copper — and anything else that they loved about Arizona, as part of their participation in Arizona Cocktail Week, which runs Friday, Feb. 18, through Saturday, Feb. 25.

These are four of our favorites, available for a limited time, to give you a reason to raise a glass to our nation’s 48th state. Arizona lime and orange juices as well as egg white, Aperol, St-germain Elderflower Liqueur and 4 drops of orangeflower water, which smells like orange blossoms.

“My favorite time of year is spring, especially when everything is in bloom. Just walking around and smelling all the blossoms is amazing, and I wanted to give that sensation to this cocktail,” he wrote.

To add a touch of Sonoran dryness, he put in a few dashes of Peychaud’s Bitters. Price: $10. Available: Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, through Sunday, Feb. 19.
