Go-kart racing venue opens

-

SCOTTSDALE — Octane Raceway has opened in the Scottsdale Pavilions, 9119 E. Indian Bend Road.

Company President Scott Sanders said the new 65,000-square-foot venue is a “fresh and upscale” version of the facility in Phoenix, at 48th and Washington streets, which closed July 7 to complete the move to Scottsdale.

Sanders said the new location is highly visible and provides easy access to customers in Tempe, Mesa, Chandler and Phoenix, a quick distance from the Scottsdale Airpark and north Phoenix business districts.

The facility features 30 new electric go-karts that run up to 40 mph.

Sanders traveled overseas to France-based Sodikart to test-drive their prototype RTXmodel. He said the RTX’s advanced technology and handling characteristics won him over.

The model allows for drivers of all sizes to have a comfortable driving experience with adjustable pedals, seats and tilt steering wheels. No exhaust pollutants are released into the atmosphere.

Specifically designed for the venue, the one-third-mile indoor/outdoor racetrack features a series of straightaways and switchbacks.

The venue includes a track-side bar and grill, 24-game arcade, billiards, rock wall, Segway course and PIR Pit Crew Challenge, as well as three event rooms for parties and corporate events.
