Outlook: South Korea’s Inbee Park is trying to become the first player, male or female, to win four profession­al major championsh­ips in a season. She swept the Kraft Nabisco, LPGA Championsh­ip and U.S. Women’s Open and has three other LPGA Tour victories this year. The tour has five majors for the first time this year with the addition of The Evian Championsh­ip in France in September. ... The tournament became an official LPGA Tour event in 1994 and was elevated to major status in 2001. ... The 2014 event will be played at Royal Birkdale. ...
